Gotta have at least one other Green Arrow villain though. And I'd cast Matthew McConaughey as Oliver and put Pitt as Deathstroke.

This film could bomb harder than Green Lantern and would still get green lit for a sequel, the sheer hype that's been following this film since casting announcement is too damn high.

I'm really digging the idea of using the Supermax plot as a follow-up. It would also be a very fresh take on Oliver from Arrow (which I'm also a big fan of).

Even if we never see a sequel, I'm happy that WB is taking chances. I think of this as WB's Guardians of the Galaxy. Not only does it introduce some more obscure characters to the audience, but it also stretches the boundaries of the movie universe. I also love the timing of it. By introducing it early on, we have close to twenty relevant heroes/villains (including Faora and the rumored Deathstroke) within the first 3 movies.

Critically speaking of course, not financially.

The latter would mean a dead franchise for the DCEU.

Critical reception was part of what killed TASM franchise, if Suicide Squad has a strong opening and makes a bunch of money, but nobody that sees it likes it, those people are unlikely to spend money on Blu-Rays, or see the sequel.

Yeah, fair analysis on that.

Will the new Joker alone put many audiences in the theater? Should be a financial success atleast. Hopefully Initial reviews praise the Joker so it should be fine.

Out of both curiosity for the Joker and hype the Suicide Squad will have a stellar opening weekend at the box office.

Word of mouth from its quality and the fact that there's nothing big opening on August will guarantee it a damn good overall worldwide box office. :cwink:

Curiosity for the Joker, absolutely!

But I don't think there is any hype among the General Audience for a Suicide Squad movie! Atleast that's how I feel where I live.

Oh MTV's assuring that with their constant focus on the Suicide Squad and especially Harley Quinn.

In fact if they keep this up we'll have the twilight fans, the Hunger Games fans and the Tumblr community excited for this film. :hehe:

So is Watchmen to blame for Suicide Squad not having an R rating?

Campea isn't saying that. But he mentions how much WB lost money because of Watchmen. How it threw a wrench in a lot of movie plans to do other R rated projects.

Obviously that was years ago. But I wonder if Watchmen not making the money they expected is in the back of their minds when it came to Suicide Squad. It makes sense from their perspective to make it PG 13.

Suicide squad wont be rated r because wb wants to sell as many tickets as possible. It also features batman, there will be no rated r movies featuring batman.
