Yeah, but here's the thing. I have yet to find a critic that I agrees with even some of the time. I mostly read/watch youtube reviews and at times read the big online newspaper ones, but non of them see things my way even most of the time. That is why I don't relay on it heavily.

And of course I prioritize on movies. I'm not rich or have so much free time - I don't right now, but that won't last forever.

Don't know what's happening with DorneyDave, but it sure is glorious.

Okay, that's fine. If your circumstance is one where you can't trust critics, so be it. Don't presume to speak for everyone, however.

I've been here since 2013 and only on the Suicide Squad boards have I seen someone try to get banned that why.
Something similar happened in the BvS thread a while back.
The DCEU brings out the worst on people.:o

sure, if every movie I see all year long i'm completely indifferent and uninterested in initially. that however, wasn't the point of my previous post.

He makes a good point, though. The post we're all responding to is one in which you said listening to critics is a tacit admission that you can't make your own decisions. You also suggested that people should just see movies they're interested in.

But now you're telling us that you go see movies you're completely indifferent to because critics tell you to...?

If I'm really interested in a film and critics are trashing it, I'll still go and see for myself. Critics weren't fond of BvS or Apocalypse and I ended up loving them both.

Same here. I am definitely going to watch Suicide Squad despite the reviews and might end up loving it.

The thing is, watching a movie in a pool of negativity and bad word of mouth ain't pretty. It ruins the experience.

you are clearly missing the point of what i was saying. i disagree with basing a decision to view a movie on critical opinion from a critic if you are already planed to see it, but for those you didn't , then sure. maybe i came off to matter of fact in my initial post, but i have clarified my opinion after. i don't get why is it so hard to understand.

Some supposed "scoops" over at boxofficetheory

Guy who says he has contacts in the film industry is saying he's hearing bad buzz from Suicide Squad.

Just for the record someone did some research on him, he also heard bad buzz on Sicario and the Revenant so take it as you will.

Okay Then.

Moving on... to the next one.

It was probably hard to understand that you weren't so matter-of-fact because you were so matter-of-fact, but fair enough. I get what you're saying.

Genuinely curious what constitutes to good or bad buzz? For example say 5 people you know have seen the film 2 hated, 2 liked it, 1 was in the middle, you quite easily say "been hearing bad buzz on SS" or "I have been hearing good buzz on SS". Is why I don't put much stock into buzz comments (good or bad).

i think that particular situation would constitute as a "mixed bag". no ??? :p

either way, i can't wait to see harley on the big screen. i had to watch that godawful "birds of prey" tv show just for her short appearances a while ago. what we do for love. thought, i do love me some mia sara.

Yeah most people don't even do reaction tweets due to embargoes. So all you got are a couple people here or there saying simple "I liked it" or "I didn't like it". There will be hundreds of reviews out there next week, who knows what the general consensus could be based off of a couple vague tweets.

Also remember ViolatingNDA and all the the other "I saw the movie" people who started coming out of the woodwork when the BVS release date started creeping up.

That is my point. It is a mixed buzz but people could sway it and say "good buzz, 2 liked it one was on the fence" or "bad buzz, 2 hated it and the other wasn't exactly glowing in praise" to meet their agenda, so I tend to ignore them sort of comments and prefer to take stock into what actual people who have seen the film say.

Well, looks like Doug Walker the Nostalgia Critic isn't a fan...

They just saw a "Will Smith movie that they can't talk about" and then "Let's talk about a bad Will Smith movie, but not as bad as the one we just saw."
How soon are early, or pre screenings done? Smith also has Collateral Beauty coming out this year and it is in post production.

Yeah I was afraid smith might taint this. He's been a target ever since After Earth.
