I'm worried about Famuyiwa. At least Wan has blockbuster experience, so he know his way around big studio and its people.
Famuyiwa need assistance, not pressure that now apparent in WB.

He'll get assistance, it'll just be from WB shills who have the wrong interests in mind

We can blame WB for getting their hands on the movie and messing it up.

But why is David Ayer pitching a Suicide Squad movie with no script whatsoever. I can see if it was a cop movie which is something he can easily come up with. But a comic book movie?

Again blame WB, but Ayer should have at least had a decent story in mind.

When is Batfleck's standalone film due?

The idea that even a Batman film can save this train wreck is fast becoming untenable.

After all, it'll still be the same people at WB behind it, won't it?

If that story about GL is true. Oh boy. DCEU is finished before even started.

It really makes me question just how much things will change with Johns running the films. This is where the problem lies, the WB system, whatever it is, is ****ed.

That article concerns me more than any RT score or critic's review. WB's problem may be more systematic and thus carry over into their various films.

Exactly. Marvel sets parameters, and let's directors work in them. DC sets no parameters, then back pedals.

Marvel runs it like a TV series. I think we're at the stage where we can objectively say, no matter how you feel about their movies, the Marvel way in doing this concept is the correct way.

Unfortunately true. Let's hope Wan can pull off Aquaman and Rick isn't thrown into a pressure cooker of a film production.

Luckily the script, or at least most of it is already done for the Flash.

Dude there's a huge, huge difference between pitching something and then actually writing a shooting draft.

Well surprise surprise, WB has butchered yet another DCEU film and doomed it before it even stood a chance

They will never learn

Tsujihara is a money-man. He knows nothing about filmmaking.

Wan pulling off Furious 7 is nothing short of a miracle, but now I wouldn't doubt Faraci's info about Wan not wanting another high stakes, overly scrutinized blockbuster to work with. Hopefully he can pull it off again.

Famuyiwa though, yeah. I'm worried for him too. Who knows if we'll ever get a SS sequel at this point if Ayer is done with these tentpoles and WB.

I think I finally understand why Hardy really left

Scheduling conflict my ass, he saw a sinking ship right from the start

Absolutely. Only the most deluded DC fan could say otherwise.

I honestly think the best way for DC to extricate themselves from this in the long run is get 2017 out of the way, ditch the standing DCEU narrative, and start afresh on TV somewhere like Amazon, where the pressure will be off, but the funding will be there to produce high quality material.

Let Marvel have the cinema screen, it's obvious they're better at it. DC can however rule the small screen, which is where a lot of the best creativity is going these days.

I think this universe is done after JL. Hopefully we can at least get a decent WW movie out of this train wreck.

.

Wouldn't be surprised if Wan is gone soon. Dude doesn't need this ****. If the HR story is true about how Ayer was treated, why would he stick around for more of the same?

What about the actors, characters, everything that has been built so far? Is it going to get rebooted, just like that?

I'm done with comic book movies after Suicide Squad and even with the currents news that came out makes me think about it, cause I cant support a studio who doesn't have right mind set nor care for a property that I love

Hopefully the fact that James Wan has already given them hits with The two Conjuring films and producing Lights Out will help him out when it comes to respect.

I wouldn't go that far but I do feel any film after JL is no longer guaranteed to happen including Afflecks Batman film.
