Suicide Squad: General Discussion and Speculation - Part 3

I'd agree to a point. I mean I great up reading Dixon's run on nightwing, and Deathstroke to him was everything you are saying. But then again, what exactly is Batman to someone like Nightwing? Point being, Batman's big screen debut(as far as I'm concerned) needs to be given it's due as well.

Batman fighting cap or wolverine would be pretty tough but, wiping the floor with bat's is never sure thing. Regardless of steriods and meta boosts. Just look at court of owls.
It boils down to asking yourself just what happens when Shiva faces off against Cap or Wolverine. The answer being, not a sure bet.

Well Marv I agree in the sense that I mentioned that Batman would live to fight another day. I don't think that Batman gets whupped by Deathstroke (I.E. "loses" or is "schooled") but using the idea of Slade being like a mix of Cap and Logan only a villain, indicates how big and bad a challenge he really would (and HAS) been for the Dark Knight. I remember a time when Batman actually struggled against such types. Before he was turned into a joke, The KGBeast was a SCARY character that Batman decided was easier to handle by NOT engaging in hand to hand combat ultimately. (Really... Wikipedia article on KGBeast's first story sums it up best. Or if you don't want it spoiled try and find the first KGBeast story. It's quite good in my opinion.) So, I don't think he would wipe the floor with Batman. I have great respect for Batman as THE WORLD'S GREATEST HAND TO HAND COMBATANT, that's as much a part of him as flight is for Superman, but he has opponents that are his peers in that area and when those handful of opponents are indeed boosted in the way of a Cap type super soldier, ect. that makes for an enemy that would leave Batman bloodied and bruised in the aftermath. My two cents.

Most rumors have said Slade will be in the movie, so I'm betting he will be.

I still say if Slade were going to be in this we would have heard about casting. And we have not. Not a rumor of casting, but an actual announcement. And it wouldn't be an actor like Joe Man-Jello. Let's put it this way... You can't get an actor that is a step down in quality from the one portraying the character on tv. You have to go UP in quality. I aint even a fan of ARROW, but on all levels Manu on the show blows Joe out of the water except of course for Joe's "comic accurate" look. But the dude has no charisma, and is at best, serviceable as an actor. Deathstroke has become a major DC villain, hell, HAS been a major DC villain to those in the know since his first appearance. It's just that pop culture has finally caught up with what the comic book cogniscentti have thought for a long time, through his use in games, on Young Justice, Teen Titans, and now ARROW. I think if and when we get a big screen Slade, he won't be played by someone like Joe M.

It's still a month away from filming old man so we can get that second wave of casting at anytime. And these characters will obviously be support characters anyway so they didn't need to be announced earlier.

If the casting is for El Disblo, then yeah, FA. For Deathstroke though? I remain skeptical that they wouldn't give us casting on that, especially with the character getting such visibility on ARROW. That said... I've been proven wrong before and I will be again in the future, so who knows?

They haven't said anything about Amanda Waller though either that just got leaked and then Viola said something. A little different situation I know since Waller was basically always locked but WB/Ayer etc haven't confirmed that Waller is even in the movie (even though Viola has).

Totally random, but... Arnold for Deathstroke? Too old?

Any charm and acting ability Arnold had is nearly gone now and this is coming from a fan. Also he is a geezer.

I wouldn't mind Arnold being a part of this universe, but he's a bit too old for Deathstroke.

So is it safe to assume that Ayer and Snyder have collaborated with each other in terms of which characters are free to be killed off from his SS film and where some need to be by the end of the story?

Plus, Snyder and Ayer's visual/cinematic approaches are pretty different from each other, unlike most of the MCU Phase 2 films, so it should be interesting to see how Ayer presents the DCU from his perspective, especially given on how we would have had 2 film entries from Snyder by that point.

Snyder is an Executive Producer on Suicide Squad.

Jesus, who do I have to **** for us to get official press releases here? Why are we having these things confirmed by actors and not by Warner Bros.?

At this point don't expect a press release until production officially starts.
