I'd take him out of the movie. Have Harley tell stories about her "puddin'" throughout the film, then as a post credits scene show him break her out of jail. Let the Joker reveal be the last thing people see.

There's my two cents.

That would have been perfect to be honest. Leave the audience starving for the Joker's next appearance with the end credit cameo. Sort of reminds me of the joker card at the end of Batman Begins. It got people hyped for the next film. They gave us to much Joker in this film with so little relevance. Now audiences have made up their mind whether they like him or not from these scenes. They won't care to see him again.

I think the villain was weak. This film felt like the typical comic book origin movie that didn't do anything with its characters. With the exception of Deadshot, all the rest of the characters needed major work.

If they put the Joker in this next film, the only way I can see it is if he is some sort of informant or something.....like the Joker has some information about the other bad guy and Batman needs to grill him for it. But then again, we've seen Batman grill the Joker already.

The logic behind Task Force X is pretty nonsensical in this film.

What if the next Superman (i.e. a godlike being) is a terrorist? Let's put together a group of people comprised of:

- the most accurate sharpshooter in the world, but otherwise a normal man shooting normal bullets
- a crazy clown girl who's good with a baseball bat and a gun, but otherwise a normal woman
- a man who's very accurate with throwing boomerangs
- an alligator man with considerable (but not impossible) strength
- a woman who's very skilled with a sword
- an expert escape artist
- a man who can produce and manipulate fire

All these people... to take on "the next Superman." Not a great plan.

Honestly, El Mayimbe's rumors about Antiphon and Onslaught made so much more sense than these people taking on a six thousand-year-old witch. These people are not feasibly equipped to take on beings like this. Covert assignments against terrorist cells sounds more up their alley.

And remember, Superman stopped a giant world engine by himself then flew to the other side of the planet and destroyed half of Metropolis in a fist fight, ended by flying up and destroying one of the army's drones to show they will not spy on him.

That was literally the only story thread this film had to the Snyderverse, and it's ultimately the one which completely crumbles the entire concept. Had they simply focused on how to make SS work in and of itself without tying into BvS, they would have been better off.

This is why I think they should have spent more time with El Diablo and gotten rid of Katana, Croc, and Flag.

There was a much better story here than what they gave us.

I posted this in the Enchantress thread. I think this would have been a better way to connect Suicide Squad with BvS and Justice League.

I remember one of the recent rumors about the movie is that Enchantress has a vision of the future where she sees something coming to Earth that is most likely the villain of the Justice League movie and she takes over Midway City because her and Incubus want a position in the new world that would be ruled by Darkseid. I think that would have been better because it would have also have tied into that Knightmare scene from Batman v Superman and we wouldn't get a repeat of the "humans don't worship us anymore so lets kill them" motivation from X-Men Apocalypse.

Its kind of ironic that WB hired the people who cut the trailer, which was Joker centric, to edit the final cut of the movie.....and they barely use the Joker.....

They didn't need to name-drop Superman as the reason for putting together Task Force X though. Now that all these metahumans are popping up out of the woodwork (as shown in BvS), it was only a matter of time before the government sought ways to leverage these people to their advantage.

You could have the squad mention Superman, Batman, and even the Flash during conversation (perhaps taking about how they got caught?), but otherwise that's all that's really needed.

But like Jekecy said, this movie almost falls apart from the get-go because the story concept is so outrageous. "Hey, let's recruit this boomerang guy to take on THE NEXT SUPERMAN." Sounds airtight, boss!

I posted this in the Enchantress thread. I think this would have been a better way to connect Suicide Squad with BvS and Justice League.

That should have been included. And it would have been much better than what we got, which was typical bad guy nonsense.

I also thought that Lex Luthor should have been included in a post-credits situation, maybe working with (or manipulating) the Joker behind the scenes to begin breaking into Belle Reve to assemble his own team (the Injustice League), since his character believes that the heroes can't save the Earth from what's coming.

Just got home from seeing SS... Hands down, Margot Robbie is da best Harley Quinn.

Sadly, knowing the downside of TBS of what went on during the editing process...I wish we, as fans, saw the better version that was test screen and got the most positive reactions. Clearly, WB felt the 'market' audiences wasn't ready for a much darker...edgier, grittier tone that ended up being trimmed down and many scenes being on the cutting room floor. Shame, they over marketed the film when the whole thing had so much potential...and the studio went in and had to ruin it by making it worse.

Aside from that, I enjoyed enough parts of the film that I knew I was going to absolutely love the hell out of...aside from Robbie's Quinn, I liked Smith's Deadshot, the dude whats his name who was in love with June...Amanda Waller...she was a good villain. I did like the backstories but wish there were more...especially regarding Harley and Joker...I wanted to see more of them.

Deadshoot with a Kyrptonite bullet is the only way I see it, or enchantress trying a mind control thing only way I see I could feasibly see it.

I feel torn...I really wanted to love it but came out...just enjoying the really good parts that I was looking forward to the most...*shrugs* Maybe...if there is an ultimate cut version, I'll love it way more than just the parts I enjoyed.

*sighs* *lets out a deep breath* My friends who I went to see it feel the same way...and while I don't disagree with their thoughts about the film, again, it could have been so much better if 1) the marketing wasn't over the top 2) the tone and scenes weren't trimmed down to a T that left a lot of scenes removed...
