so i just found out that there is no 4K version of extended cut. damn

Sucks for the three people who care about 4K :o

This is pretty telling...

The Ringer published a big piece today titled “Movies Aren’t Dead, but They’ll Never Be the Same” about the state of the movie industry, and one of the people they spoke to was Bret Easton Ellis. Ellis is best known as the author of the book “American Pyscho” (Christian Bale stared in the movie), and apparently he has some big Hollywood friends.

“I was having dinner with a couple of executives who know other executives who are working on the [forthcoming] Batman movie, The Batman,” Ellis told The Ringer.

“And they were just telling me that there are serious problems with the script. And that the executives I was having dinner with were complaining about people who work on the Batman movie. And they just said they went to the studio and they said, ‘Look, the script is … Here’s 30 things that are wrong with it that we can fix.’ And [the executives] said, ‘We don’t care. We don’t really care. The amount of money we’re going to make globally, I mean 70 percent of our audience is not going to be seeing this in English. And it doesn’t really matter, these things that you’re bringing up about the flaws of the script.’ So I do think global concerns play a big part in how movies, and what movies, are being made, obviously.”

Look, we know there are problems with the script. This past summer, Ben Affleck publicly stated that he’s not happy with it. But if everything Bret Easton Ellis said is true about Warner Bros. executives not caring, that’s very concerning! Could that be why Ben Affleck keeps saying “there is no Batman movie”, yet the movie is scheduled to begin shooting in the spring?

Its probably true they are going to shoot the movie and fix it in post and then have reshoots pad the rest of the plot out

This part works way better without the music. Thank you, Suicide Squad Twitter account

Not that I remember what music played in that scene, but yeah the movie lacks quiet moments with no music at all.

David Ayer is liking haters tweets on twitter. I'm dying. He doesn't care.

Just realized the extended version comes out this Friday, awesome :)

Is iTunes the only one that comes with the bonus features? I guess I'm ordering it there, didn't see it advertised on other sites selling the digital edition.

Edit: damn it is Tuesday, I thought it was the 12th, which is a Saturday anyway not Friday. I got all my dates screwed up.

Next Tuesday it is released...unless I'm missing something...

No, it's not all that matters. The quality of a film will always be of utmost importance.

Not to the studio. The bottom line is profit and they achieved that. If Ayer likes his film and it made money, then there's nothing else to say really. The critical reception is irrelevant if the parties most concerned are satisfied with the product and the revenue it generated. Audiences clearly still responded well enough to it, so Ayer has nothing to feel bad about really. Unless he himself hated his film.

I hope the Joker grenade scene is in the extended cut.

I don't see the originally planned end making it into this version as they probably didn't complete the CGI and visual effects for it.

You never know. We could still get it in some way, shape or form. Stranger things have happened.

Yeah especially since the Extended Cut trailer shows Katana's eye's dilating, which is allegedly part of the original ending.

To the fans?

That's all that matters to the studio. What the fans feel is irrelevant if they keep investing money into it.

It's like going to a restaurant. I go out to eat and order a steak. There's some sorta calamity in this restaurant and my steak comes out undercooked. I flip out and demand to the owners that they get their kitchen in order, otherwise I take my business to the restaurant across the street. Owners hear my complaint and offer to readjust.

Now readjusting takes time, I understand that, but I should probably tread cautiously right? Nope, I go right back and order another steak that is by all accounts still raw but hey now the restaurant has a cool band playing so whatever...at least it's fun I guess. I pay them again for a raw ass steak and complain the whole time while eating that raw ass steak. So they offer a very similar steak that may or may not be still raw, but it's definitely a bigger slab this time. I then pre-order that potentially still terrible steak. All the while telling the owners they need to fix their kitchen, all the while still giving them my money for what I deem to be lackluster food.

Do you, in this situation, think that the owners will actually care about me complaining about their food when I keep giving them my business regardless?
