I really wanted to like this movie and while the marketing didn't blow me away like everyone else, I was still looking forward to it, but there was just something...off about the movie. There were a few things I really liked, but mostly everything else I was just kind of indifferent towards or flat out didn't like.

I will say I'm looking forward to seeing more of Leto's Joker. I was mostly indifferent towards him in his small role, but props to Leto because I felt like it was the Joker and not Jared Leto.

well, it's her movie. they needed to hype her importance. i don't think she is crazier then him but she may ultimately be impossible for him to control. which makes her even more irresistible in a way.

I get the irony, but since the film felt so rushed without any proper breathing room, and not only that it kinda seems like they tried to convey the idea that HQ is crazier and wild then the Joker, which is just not the case.

Okay I get where your coming from, still I find it just funny more then I find it to be a problem

Watching the chase scene on YouTube (the official clip), it's so obvious that it was cut. Joker's car goes to totally different areas in seconds.

Yea. In Comic Con first look trailer, Harley says " I hope you've got insurance" which is not in the theatrical version.

Anyone else think it's weird there are people going around wishing they had a relationship like HQ and The Joker? I'm seeing a lot of this on my social media feeds. If there's one relationship you shouldn't want to strive for its that one.

People have been saying that for years.

i think they like the romanticized version of it - a guy being possessive and obsessed with you, giving you everything you want, raw passion, no limits. domination and submission. that sort of thing. i doubt physical and emotional abuse is part of their fantasy.

The teen girls behind me were squealing during every Joker/Harley moment, especially the ending. They all went

"Awww :ilv:"

:whatever:

The bad boy fantasy. It's a common thing. I'm amazed WB hasn't marketed their twisted romance sooner. It will be a freaking gold-mine.

Is it wrong to want to watch the more darker tone version especially the one involving more of the Joker and Harley's relationship? :(

I feel we may never see those scenes. Ever.

it's not wrong. they have a truly fascinating dynamic that deserves to be explored. definitely one of a kind in CBM.

It's not a healthy relationship that should be celebrated though. He's a manipulative psychopath who uses her and she's an obsessive compulsive with a delusional fantasy of who he is. If any screwed up couple should be celebrate it's Deadpool and Vanessa, at the very least those two genuinely love each other.

i never said they should be celebrated, but explored. the ultimate goal should always be harley's independence and freedom from the joker. but you first have to show what she is running from. because in SS they looked like two wackos who found their soulmate. they need more depth, unless this romanticized version is the one they want to portray full time.

It isn't wrong. I think it's what most of us thought we were going to get until the movie came out.

I'm in total agreement that relationship should be explored, but the fact a lot of younger women see it in a positive light is just sad to me, because that relationship is toxic. People should be wanting Harley to get out of that relationship, not stay in it.

I would have like to see how and why Harley would always somehow find her way back to the Joker...regardless of her desire to be more independent and free from him instead of how the movie portrayed them as two wackos who found their soulmate like Tanita_Mors mentioned.

I guess what I am trying to get at is, for one, I am not really into those 'romantic comedies' unless they're done right in a interesting kind of way...I like the more dark adult type ones...okay kinda like Wade Wilson and Vanessa's relationship in Deadpool...

But I do like the Joker/Harley relationship aspect - no matter how F up it is...and how tastefully done it is...I would still like to see more of their past explored in rich detail.

They made Joker a much better boyfriend in this movie though. I can forgive the fangirls for shipping it now or whatever.
I mean if he was smacking her around and pissing on her don't you think there would be a huge controversy over this movie?
The only abusive thing I think Joker did in this movie are leaving her to drown in the car and then almost left her to drown in the vat of chemicals.

It wouldve been sooo great to ser both sides though. Scenes where it seems Joker doesnt give a F about her and scenes where it seems like he almost cant live without her. That wouldve been fascinating and in line with how their relationship is from the comics.

I actually very much enjoyed this movie. That being said I feel like their is even a much better version of this movie that could be put together, not unlike the Ultimate cut of Bats v Superman. I can't help but have a conspiracy theory that Warner Brothers does this stuff on purpose to get big profits once these movies are released on dvd/blu-Ray. Haha.

you know, twisted and kinky is exciting, it's attractive, it's sexy. and a lot of women find relationships like this one (depicted in the movie not the comic) to be irresistible to watch or read about. it's among the biggest forbidden fruit fantasies. but also, most of them can distinguished between fantasy and reality and that a relationship like this in reality should be avoided at all cost. you run in the other direction.

i mean, i like violent movies and strange relationships, i often adore villains, but i would never emulate them or think what they are doing is socially acceptable or a goal in life. you may think it's cool, but only in purely fictional terms. i hope most people i like that. so sure, ship joker and harely, but only in fiction.

I mean look at a lot of the big romantic stories that people latch onto. Edward/Bella from Twilight. Hell even Frank/Claire from House of Cards. So many of them arent healthy and still people say "#relationshipgoals"

People are idiots man. Nothing new.

I really wanna see this again but...just the best parts I found far more enjoyable ... besides Harley...relieve the moments I really liked and laughed at because...feck, I have a weakspot for weird crazy women. :o But also badass characters like Deadshot and Flag. lols

doomed or tragic love always plays well. the bad boy gets the girl, while you get friend-zoned and he speeds away in his purple lambo.
