Ayer confirms that he tried to get Alexander Courage on board to do the score as he's a big fan of Superman IV but was unsuccessful [probably on account of the fact that Courage died in 2008].

I'm sure there are actors who also know some martial arts (if Snipes was younger and was never Blade...) out there. As opposed to a great rapper who can't act for #@$% and knows no martial arts...

I'll never understand the obsession with casting martial artists. I'd rather they cast someone who can dance, seeing as on screen fights are a lot more reminiscent of a well choreographed dance. Yeah, some are definitely meant to look a lot closer to the real life, but I doubt that's what we'll see in any DCCU films.

Common can act under the right director, Ayer being a proven example of that. And he can dance. I'd say it's a win for the casting department.

Hell, he's worked with Ayer before. I am confident Common will do just fine under Ayer's direction and writing, whichever character he is.
