I love the look. I can understand why some people don't but he looks like the Joker to me, and as someone who has been a Batman fan for nearly 30 years, I feel like I know these characters. Leto looks absolutely INSANE here, that's why it works.

One more thing. A lot of people seem to feel that the TAS Joker was the definitive version. That's fine, but I personally never cared for that version. No disrespect to Mark Hamill, but I never liked his Joker voice. I think TAS was a great show, but I felt like they watered down the Joker because they had to make the show kid-friendly. That's part of why I don't like Harley Quinn. I feel like she was introduced just to make the Joker more campy and less scary. I also never cared for the idea of Joker having a longstanding accomplice/lover/whatever. I feel like he's at his best when the people he's working with are scared sh**less of him because they know he might kill them at any minute.

I don't know, I think it could be true. The tattoos are so blatantly Joker-ish that it's almost meta. Plus, there doesn't seem to be a sign of them on the other pictures of Leto we have.

Probably the usual... DC sucks, WB has no plan, the picture doesn't look like Heath Ledger's Joker at all, Marvel rulez and DC is just trying anything to catch up, etc.
