I don't know, I think it could be true. The tattoos are so blatantly Joker-ish that it's almost meta. Plus, there doesn't seem to be a sign of them on the other pictures of Leto we have.

Have you seen the resolution of those photos? you can barely make out the fact that his hair is green on those, let alone fine print tattoos on his noggin.

Essentially that he wasn't perma-white and smeared makeup all over his face.

8 years later, and I still hate this first-look. That has never changed for me and I do not regret all the time I spent ranting against it.

It feels great to be on the other side of the fence this time around.

The first image of Ledger's Joker was quite a shock - moreso than this one.

I hated the makeup look at first. But the more we learned about the character in the context of TDK, the more it actually worked. And of course, they toned the lipstick down.

I will always prefer the permawhite, elegant-looking Joker, but I do love Heath's look as a self-contained entry into the character's canon.

Oh, no. Some paparazzi pic of Smith him with much shorter hair and a bigger goatee than he's sported on film before. I'm just assuming that's Deadshot's normal look in the film...

Not a set photo, but Smith shaved his head.

Yeah, that post had me check all the SS forum threads to see what he was talking about, then logic set in, and I realized it'd get posted in the BvS forums first. But no such luck

Hopefully with Deadshot, they skip his mask, and just give him a target tat on his forehead, a teardrop bullet, and the words "BANG, BANG" going down his neck. Maybe have his name spelled out on his finger, too?

Smith being Black has nothing to do with my thoughts.

I'm focusing more on how these characters look in general outside of their normal costumes. Joker looks nothing like anyone expected. If he wears a suit, it'll be closer (when ignoring the teeth and tattoo on his forehead). We've all seen Smith on film and in his daily life. He's now sporting a look we've never seen have before.

So, I'm thinking these characters in general are going to be somewhat of a surprise and/or not exactly what a good amount of people were envisioning/expecting.

Obviously the essence is more important. And cosmetic changes always happen and rarely matter in the long run. And neither the quality of the movie nor Leto's performance rests on this cosmetic change, but tattoing Damaged on his forehead is still dumb.

I agree with everything. I could see it working if Joker's "in on the joke", but the facial tattoo is still very distracting.
