Suicide Squad: General Discussion and Speculation - Part 7

This was truly a terrible line, like something a twelve-year-old would say when arriving at the playground to meet his mates.

Anyway, here's hoping that we get to see the Joker on set soon.

I thought that line was pretty dumb too.

I don't know where you live wolfie, but when I was a twelve old year boy I didn't say that nor hear it. And haven't heard any kid saying that line yet :funny: :p

True, but I was referring to the kids of today. Younger generations are rather foul-mouthed. Little bastards. :hehe:

Damn... A scene of Joker doing a mass killing like that would be pretty horrific. I'm honestly trying to remember what Ledger's kill count was in TDK more or less? Jack's Joker definitely killed a whole bunch of people, in Bat89, though a good portion must have died off screen.

Batman killed A LOT more. :o

If Joker is indeed the main antagonist (not that we know anything for certain) it would be cool if this were a HUGE scheme of his, and it turns out that it's the Squad and not Batman that stops him this time.

I really hope that Ayer can throw in some Tarantino-esqe, over the top black comedy as well.

YES. Black comedy and tension-filled dialogue that makes you wonder who will get out of the whole extravaganza alive.

That's tough line to teeter on in an action film, of course. But I think this is the type of tone that would fit these characters. If anyone hasn't seen ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK, this is how I look at it: Suicide Squad should be the bastard child of ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK and KILL BILL. It should be a group of colorful over the top characters (Like in the KILL BILL films) that to one degree or another mirror Plisken's attitude. They don't want to be doing what they are doing, but they will do what ever it takes to get out of their situation alive.

If at least ONE scene in SS can match the tension of the bar scene in INGLORIOUS BASTERDS I will be a happy man.

The dinner table scene from Fury reminded me of that.

Or that scene with the French dairy farmer talking to the Nazi investigator (nicknamed "Jew Hunter") while Jews are hiding under his floorboards. Hell yeah.:woot:

I have been wanting to see some Tarantino-like dialogue and tension in CBMs for years. The combination of wacky and dread would suit this movie perfectly.
