The worst she has ever looked happens to be for the promo shots. The lighting and her hair didn't work. Normally she looks much better. Liking the costume though.

Pretty much just Helen Slater 2.0 costume. Only real issue is her hair could be a little blonder, a bit too sandy coloured for me.

I do see some leggings between the boots and skirt so it does make it slight different from Slater's

I don't think photographs quite do her justice. You just don't get the full picture of her or all her expressions.

In this video here, she shines more than any photograph and looks positively radiant and beautiful:

Oh I'm optimistic on her, I just think the promo pics came up a bit short in terms of her look (not talking about the costume, which looks pretty good to me in shots)

Looks great I think. I really wish the MOS suit (which I do quite like) could have gone for this level of simplicity. Can you imagine what a regular, faithful Superman suit would look like in this style and materials and colours? It would be awesome!

Yeah, I think the MOS costume was trying a little too hard. Maybe it's problem was that there was the Superman Returns suit in between, and they were trying to distance themselves from that by making it look more high tech and different from that.

Supergirl, however, has had 30 years between this suit and the Helen Slater version. The Laura Vandervoort version in Smallville was really just a regular blue top and red skirt and not a costume as such.

Sometimes simplicity is best.

Probably tights not leggings. I think it looks cuter than bare legs but to each their own.

Aye. In order of ranking of the DCBU costume ranking:

Supergirl
Arsenal
Canary (Lotz)
Flash
Black Canary (Cassidy)
Arrow
Atom
Firestorm

Definitely a very solid costume. I just wish the background of the symbol was gold.

Surprisingly I don't mind the goldless background. Puts me in mind of Superboy's black T and Red S

Completely agree.

I like it. Can't wait to see it in daylight.

Absolutely  I like the dark nylons on her, but could see where tan would look good as well. Regardless I much prefer that over bare legs.
Commence google search ;)

I can dig tan instead of darker hosiery, but I think the darker still looks good.

I can't wait to see the suit in action.

Same here. I'm also curious to see how it looks when she's flying. I would love an aerial balletic sequence like Helen Slater had:

I guess I'll finally address my issues in the correct thread. The actress doesn't look heroic/the costume looks like it's wearing her. If they were worried about bare legs they should have just went with pants and shorter red boots. Also she looks older than she should in that photo. It's times like these I really appreciate what Wilkinson did in Man of Steel even more than I already did.

Yup. Both the MOS suit and the New 52 one (whether Lee or JR Jr) look jarring to the extreme

Hopefully Supergirl has more than one pair of tights. Most girls do. There shouldn't be any reason she couldn't have sheer ones too.

Also, I think those tights aren't quite sheer but have a slightly whitish tint to them which gives it a more shiny look.

Takes away the bare legs because they are too politically incorrect.

But gives her thigh high stripper boots. Go figure.

I'm thinking the leggings are an actual part of the costume rather than something that she wears to 'compliment' the rest of it, and therefore don't think we'll see them change all that much.

I just hope they don't ever change to bare instead of tights, bleh.

What is wrong with bare legs? I suppose you'd like women to wear tights to the swimming pool or the beach too?
