How do you know lol we know next to nothing on bizzaro and have more info on banshee.

The very fact that we already know what we do about Silver Banshee ought to be proof enough that she isnt the "Jane Doe" we saw.

Here's a reminder of what we know about SB:
CBS’ “Supergirl” is readying another DC Comics character for battle.

The drama has cast “Chasing Life” alum Italia Ricci in the recurring role of Siobhan Smythe. The latest hire by Calista Flockhart’s media mogul Cat Grant, the character is first introduced as a workplace adversary for Melissa Benoist’s heroine. But she later becomes a much more deadly foe when she takes on the mantle of DC Comics villain Silver Banshee.

Ricci will first appear in the 14th episode of the freshman drama, which received its full-season order earlier this week.

“We are so excited to be working with Italia,” said “Supergirl” exec producer Andrew Kreisberg. “We’ve been a fan of her work for years and we cannot wait to see her take on this iconic comic book role.”

The casting is also proving to be a family affair among this and the other Warner Bros.-produced crop of superhero shows. Ricci is engaged to Robbie Amell, who appeared on CW’s “The Flash.” (Amell had also guested on her recently departed ABC Family series).

Ricci is repped by ICM, Protégé Entertainment, Coast to Coast and Felker, Toczek, Suddleson LLP.

We knew Bizarro Girl was coming, and she really is the only character whose physical description matches the "Jane Doe" that we saw.

Well, we know that the actress in that bed is not the same actress playing the Silver Banshee. We know that LOOOOONG before we knew about Silver Banshee being a villain there was a casting call for a Melissa lookalike.

She doesn't look exactly like Melissa. With that said, if she is Bizarro Girl, then I'm glad it's not just Melissa playing double roles.

She doesn't have to be an exact lookalike, considering there will be quite a bit of make up used I'm sure.

A 1.9 is the best rating for Supergirl since week 2 when it scored a 2.19, and is an increase of 4 tenths from the midseason finale.

I don't think anyone could have predicted that. Hopefully it stays up in the 1.7+ range next episode.

It might be able to do that this next episode, but after that with X-Files as competition through the month of February, I think it will probably go back to the 1.5 range once again, if it holds that I don't see a problem.

But, all in all, it is #4 in the top 16 new shows for all new TV series in average power ratings #1 in that group for CBS shows, it is #2 in CBS new shows with "Life In Pieces" as #1 and that is ONLY because it is the lead in for BBT... on CBS, "Limitless" is the first new show to probably get renewed, and hasn't had near the competition that Supergirl has had nor the ratings HOWEVER, it is owned by CBS so that gives it a better chance of renewal AND, Supergirl has been a positive increase in its time slot for CBS from last year, all other time slots are down in ratings from last year, even the powerhouse shows like NCIS and Big Bang Theory..., so all in all I think SG has done fine. May sweeps of course will be very important, it is going to be a hit and miss in March because of March Madness and the Championship games being on CBS...it has a long road ahead of it, but has some great story lines coming up so hopefully it will have a solid showing in April and May.

Right now the series low is a 1.52. If it doesn't drop below that a renewal is a lock.

We don't know the unrounded final number for last night, but I'll take a stab and guess 1.87. With that in mind, the average through nine episodes is 1.88.

If the show takes a huge dive the rest of the season and averages a 1.20 over the final 11 episodes, the season average will be 1.51. I really think that would be enough to squeak by with a renewal.

If I'm guessing (and I am), I'd say the final 11 episodes will average in the high 1.4s for a season average of ~1.65. Daylight savings and March Madness will definitely have an impact.

I have gone from considering this show a toss up to a solid renewal.

I can never bring myself to say solid renewal at this point...haha.....I just don't want to jinx it I guess. :cwink:

I think iZombie, Lucifer, and Agent Carter are the comic shows that are a toss up right now.

iZombie would be safe, except syndication economics and CBS/Warner politics are putting it in danger. It's the lowest rated Warner show right now except The Originals, and that show is one season from syndication. If Containment and The 100 do poorly at midseason it'll really help. I'd be more confident if CW had ordered a full 22 episodes instead of 19, but they could bring it back as a midseason replacement next year. This is my second favorite comic show on TV, so I really want it back.

Agent Carter will only have 18 episodes aired after this season, so syndication isn't going to help it. It'll have to perform. It looked like a toss up last season but it was renewed. SHIELD is down signficantly from the same point last season so that doesn't necessarily bode well for Carter.

Lucifer is an enigma. It's getting a good timeslot (X-Files/Gotham as lead ins) and Fox as a network is a dumpster fire right now, so it really could get renewed with some low numbers. Like, anything above a 1.1 season average and I'd say it's safe. But 6/7 new Fox shows this season have been total bombs, so Lucifer could bomb too. It's definitely a loose adaptation of the source material and it's not really getting tons of buzz. I saw the leaked pilot and liked it, so I hope it does well.

Supergirl is a likely renewal. SHIELD, Gotham, Arrow, and Flash are 100% locks. I'd be shocked if Legends of Tomorrow isn't a hit.

You knew this was going to happen. A "conservative" media watchdog group Newsbusters has zapped Supergirl for espousing global warming fear mongering.

By the way I am of the mind that the earth comes and goes and that global warming is fearmongering New World Order propaganda and the Earth IS NOWHERE NEAR ANY DANGER. if anything is manmade it's by the government through devices like HAARP and CERN, which are not discussed in the corporate media universe because it messes with the agenda of said media that lower populations through forced vaccines and staged wars are the answer (sounding like Max Lord's heroes like Bill Gates and George Soros here).

You can look those terms up online and you will find they are not theories. But I guess that would make me a conspiracy theorist (HOW I DETEST THOSE WORDS)

And I want to say to the writers, Krypton blew up because of an unstable sun whose time was coming and it was becoming a supernova

And the blog post ends with this warning.

Supergirl continues to be a message of good over evil but the politically correct strategy employed by the liberal left – that of the end justifies the means – is not a moral, compassionate choice.

Let me say if they do anymore like this...I will boycott the show. I WANT ENTERTAINMENT, NOT PROPAGANDA. I GOT TOO MUCH OF IT IN COLLEGE.

And I want to say to the writers, Krypton blew up because of an unstable sun whose time was coming and it was becoming a supernova...

In Superman: The Movie, Krypton’s star went supernova (taking Krypton with it). And Superman Returns borrowed (along with much else) the same idea.

But traditionally, Krypton explodes due to some internal catastrophe which has nothing to do with its star. The specific cause of the planetary distress, however, has varied over the years - often reflecting (as art tends to do) the prevailing zeitgeist. In Action #1, it was “old age.” Later, the destruction was caused by Krypton’s radioactive core (which, ultimately, produced kryptonite). And later still, various Kryptonian villains were responsible. In Man of Steel (the movie) Krypton’s doom was caused by over-mining its resources. And Supergirl follows a similar theme of the “self-inflicted” demise.

In terms of a “pro-environment subtext” - fine by me. I’ll go out on a limb and say that polluting a planet (any planet) is not a good thing. :word:

All I have to say to that is...hypocrites. Their political agenda is far more evident than that of a tv series. They need to find something else to ***** at...

This is all I'm going to say on this subject, mainly because this is a place to simply come and enjoy a series with fans....

BUT, as someone who has taught Geography going on 25 years now and have kept close watches on both sides of this issue, YES....Global Warming is a natural phenomenon, it has cycles that have gone on for millions of years, including taking us out of the last Ice Age..., BUT...to think that what and how we are handling our resources and treating this earth is not impacting the length of those cycles and changes to those cycles is a very ignorant and naive way of thinking. That is all I'm saying on the subject.

again who knows of that double double was for this episode specifically or was just for episodes in general. All i was saying i thought this may been banshee as i expect/expected to see banshee show up before bizzaro stuff as i said we heard of banshee before bizzaro news. But i am curious to see where things turn out.

I think Kara's aunt Astra should drive this car:

Congratulations to the cast and crew of supergirl for winning people's choice best new drama series......

Great way to start off the year for Supergirl.

It's really been a great week for the show. A PCA and a four tenths increase in the ratings is awesome.

Yep, good start to the year for sure...

Ah as they say in cheesy TV commercials, but wait...THERE'S MORE.

Melissa is getting a fast awards upgrade. EW reports she will be among those presenting at The Golden Globe Awards this Sunday on NBC.

Now the show, a precursor to the Oscars and Emmys, is known for being unpredictable and out there. And with host British comedy star Ricky Gervais, Melissa had better be on her guard despite her having an interesting sense of humor (she does like South Park after all).

Great Krypton, what's next...an appearance at Nickelodeon's Kids Choice Awards?

With the Teen Titans not moving forward in TNT, now would be a good time to put them in Supergirl.
