Supergirl returns?

I think the girl who will actually end up playing Supergirl is in a crib right now

how it can be anyone but Elisha Cuthbert is beyond me....

I know a lot has been said about supergirls look in the comic but that elisha cuthbert manip is too ****ty. and she's too old now IMO

not like anyone's interested in Supergirl cos she's a compelling character

that's why I liked Catwoman, cos I couldn't care less, i just watched it for the eye candy

i keeed i keeeeed!

Wait...Why was Tricia Helfer mentioned? I love her, but she's not Supergirl or Power Girl.
I see the girl above or Hayden Panettiere in the role.
Helfer's you-know-whats aren't big enough (That can be fixed, easily), and she doesn't have the right personality for Power Girl. Katee Sackhoff would do better in the role.
Helfer would make a better Cheetah for Wonder Woman.

Sackoff is too old.

Hayden Panettiere is too short; shes like 5'1 (I'm meeting her this summer :))

Amber is 5'7

Sackhoff is 27 or 28. That's not too old for Power Girl.
I'd be happy with Amber in the role. She's got the Supergirl look.

Yep, thats not too old for Powergirl but its way too old for Supergirl (Sackoff is the same age as our Superman).

But Sackoff wouldnt be a well received choice for Power Girl by the fans...she lacks the umm 'proportions' for Power Girl.

If you know what I mean... :/

This movie will suck just like the other female superhero films, so they might as well just hire a sexy blonde just for the eye candy as that's the only reason anyone would watch it.

Sometime I wander if WB wants people to laugh at them. Why thinking about Supergirl when Superman didn t work that well? The answer is no, I rather see wonder woman instead.

If I can share an idea that I had about Supergirl and her adaption.
First Story, can she be Supergirl without Superman? yes? no? why not both?
My idea would be the Supergirl, Kara Zor-El, was sent with her cousin, but in a different ship. During the trip, she was intercepted and taken to Apokolips. There Darkseid plan her to be part of his army. Under Granny Goodness, Kara gets Tortured, trained, and more torture. She grows up being trained for war, knowing nothing of love, honour, just how to Destroy. Over the years, she has become one of the most powerful members of Granny Goodness Female Furies. But she eventually learns of her hertitage, much like Clark finding the ship, the same thing happens to her. She finds the ship, the ship then shows her who she is, what she is. She then revolts and takes on Darkseid and his army. But can't defeat him, but uses the ship to take her to earth where her cousin is. Thus this movie ends but continues in one of Superman's sequels, where Kara would show up, and the Two can take on Darkseid. Then Kara can have the Supergirl name and costume.
So in order of events, it would be like Superman 2, then Supergirl, then Superman 3, with Supergirl and Darkseid.
We would get an origin to supergirl, a reason why Darkseid would come to Earth, and bringing both Supes together.
And as for Cast.
Jaime King from Sin City would be my choice.

Kathy Bates as Granny Goodness.
Gina Gershon as Big Barda
Micheal Clarke Ducan as Darkseid

Sorry but thats really bad casting.

Shes the same age as Routh

That storyline seems to dark for Supergirl too..... and Granny Goodness should never be on the big screen.

Jaime King was one of my choices for Wonder Woman, but she does look to be a good choice for Supergirl who could eventually transition into Powergirl.

as for the story, its too convoluted. i've read some comic stories where you based your story from, and although it does look good on panels it may appear to be too convoluted once in the cinema. Supergirl is a superhero of the same cloth as Superman. she is supposed to be a bright shining lady. if you want a dark superhero of the same cloth as Batman then make a story about The Huntress.

But that's the thing, why not start of dark, but have her find her way through the darkness to the light? Start her off in her own movie where she is kidnapped, tortured, turned into a weapon of destruction. Then have her find her ship like Supes did, find her real self, fight off her captures, escape to earth to find Supes, who in a Superman Sequel would help her find some humanity, compassion and peace. I see want Supergirl you guys want, but why does her journey have to start off the same way as Superman? why not make her journey to the Iconic Hero we all know and love a bit more "Darker"?

Also on the whole, Jaime King looks the same age as Routh. To me, I would want some realism here, If your giving Kara a Kryptonian Background(which is what I like to see), She would have to be born around the same time as Kal, as he was an infant when he was launched into space, when Krypton blew up. Really, she would have to be the same age or older, unless she doesn't age in the ship for some strange reason as it drifts in space. Besides she looks like she is in the mid-to-low twenties, that is find by me.

Also what is Darkseid without Granny Goodness. Any character can work on screen, if portrayed right. And Annie Wilkes as the Granny would be awesome.

Umm dude. In the comics, Kara was born over 10 years before Kal-El. She was pretty much a teenager when she was put in cryogenic stasis and launched into space (when the planet was being destroyed).

You dont age when your frozen in cryogenic stasis....hence why she was still 16 when Batman found her ship.

She was born before Superman but physically shes alot younger than him. Shes a teenager in the origins; and Jaime King looks way too old to pass off as one.

your optimism for superheroine movies is truly inspiring

You don't understand what I'm saying. I love female superheroes, but there has never been a successful superheroine film. Nothing really goes into them, the outcome is always Catwoman, Elektra, and Supergirl. The studios don't care about them, don't put anything into the making of them, and look at them as they won't be taken seriously. Not to mention half of them are spin offs which make things look even more bleak. Now they can make this Superwoman film but we all know it will end up being a piece of trash with a busty blonde in the title role, that can't act. It's the truth whether anyone wants to believe it or not.

The only superheroine film that would stand a chance at being really successful is Wonder Woman.

I must say, kudos for realizing what makes superheroine films bad is the people making them, not the characters themselves.

LOL!!!
I have that comic. It's from JSA:Classified 1 or 2.

I know what you mean:cwink:, but that's what CGI is for. Tecmo should get involved, they know how to make big ones.

i understand where you're coming from now. its just that the issue has been beaten to death and TPTB who can turn this around may not even care.

... or maybe they do. they did shelve the Wonder Woman project and went with the Justice League instead. i guess they'll be relying on Batman and Superman's drawing power to get people familiar with Wonder Woman, The Flash and GL before they launch their own solo movies.

Here's one we can talk about.
She's young,
innocent looking,
cute, not drop dead gorgeous, but cute.

Tell the truth, I'm not a fan, nor would I like her cast, but she fits the criteria that I've read on this thread so far so, discuss.
