i've been seeing a few trailers and tv spots, for that new "Gracie" movie, i was wondering if anyone thought, Carly Schroeder, could work?

Is it just me, or is it much easier to come up with good choices to play Supergirl than for Superman?

If it is, maybe it's because Superman is much more clearly defined in people's minds, whereas there have been several different supergirls over the years, so she has a wider range of what need to be in the actress who plays her.

the big question is whether they can find someone as good as Helen Slater was.

She was only 19 when she made the movie, and still is the supergirl of our generation.

I cant wait for the new supergirl.
And they should definitely cast a girl , not a 30 year old !

It's not the greatest film in the world, but it has its moments.

I'll forgive them for their out of nowhere plot and god knows what for a villan since we finally got to see Supergirl alive and in the flesh finally. But it's time for a more accurate version of the character with threats, she's dealt with the comics. Not the whole Angel and Devil storyline. Could live without that one for a lifetime.

Any superhero role is way easier to cast Superman. Superman has the hardest physical look and acting style to match.

Ooh! Gotta disagree with you there! WW is more than just dark hair, 44DDD and junk in tha' trunk. The very fact that WW is back on hold due to, besides a bad script, the inability to get that one perfect actress to fill her bustier. Lynda was WW as Helen was SG. It's easier to find good actresses for SG because there are a load of blonde actresses in Hollywood and SG doesn't have to be as muscular as WW does.

They arent related at all. They just have the same last name and they both starred in 'The Legend Of Billie Jean(1985). Imdb, Wiki and other sites all report they arent related. Apparently there was some error on the Supergirl DVD in regards to this info. Helens original family name is 'Schlacter' also.

look in the casting thread before rolling your eyes. I've seen few seasoned actresses in there that have what it takes to play the role rather than look it.

That was it when i was a kid - whenever that movie would on I would sit and stare for hours. And i bought it on DVD last year

I'd like to see her play Supergirl. Tricia Helfer is abeautiful woman and plays a good role on BG, but she is too old to play Supergirl. I could see Tricia in any number of superhero related roles such as Cheetah in a Wonder Woman film or for a hero Black Canary or even Hawkgirl.
