Such a legendary scene.![]()
Interesting its mid break only be 2 weeks. I would have thought it be at least a month like most series do.
How do you read the crossed out text? I see people respond to posts that has the blocked text but I don't see a way to clear it ? Maybe because I'm reading via phone??
I think Wynn will die at the end of the first season like Tommy Merlyn and Eddie Thawne.
ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: Did you know from the beginning that Hank was actually Jonn Jonzz?
DAVID HAREWOOD: No, I didnt. I had no idea. After the pilot was picked up, my manager told me that they were changing my character. Thats as much as theyd tell me. I was intrigued by that. I didnt quite know what that meant. When I came to shoot the series, they still didnt tell me. I did the whole of Comic-Con just lying through my teeth. I didnt know what I was talking about. They told me about a week after Comic-Con. They presented me with a little Martian Manhunter doll and several comic books of Martian Manhunter. I went home and devoured them. I thought they were just fantastic. I was delighted.
I must say, I was struggling with Hank Henshaw. I didnt particularly enjoy the pilot. For me, it was a lot of exposition. I just couldnt find an angle that was interesting with Hank Henshaw. He was all, I dont like aliens, I dont like Kara. It was all a bit too one-dimensional to me. So I was delighted that they gave me this guy to play. Hes just so fantastical and its such a wonderful backstory and history. It just gave me so much more to play.
Will we get any flashbacks to Mars and see how Jonn ended up on Earth?
You wont see how he ended up on Earth, but you will see flashbacks to his family, to how they died, which was a very emotional episode for me. It was around the same time as those terrible attacks in Paris. It was just emotional, the idea that people want to kill others. In our story, and its in the comic books, there are two Martian races there are the Green Martians, which Jonn is a member of, and there are the White Martians. The White Martians exist purely to kill Green Martians. They burn them. They literally put them in furnaces. Playing that on the day was really emotional for me to think that we live on a planet where we kill each other. It was wonderful playing that with Chyler. Hopefully that will be another great episode. Jonn feels deeply that hes the last Martian. Hes the last of his kind, the only Green Martian left in history.
Hank is the last of his kind, but will he have to face any ghosts from his past down the line? Maybe prisoners from Fort Rozz?
Yes, absolutely. Theres a White Martian that turns up that wants to kill him. Hes ready to give his life. There are a whole litany of guys that Jonn wants to take out, thats why hes called a Manhunter. He doesnt necessarily kill humans. He wants to protect humans and wants to kill anything out there that threatens humanity.

Andrew Kreisberg: "But right now there is no legitimate actual plan to bring [The Flash's] Cisco [Carlos Valdes] onto Supergirl or to bring [Supergirl's] Winn [Jeremy Jordan] onto Legends [of Tomorrow]. First of all, we dont even know if we could, legally. And quite frankly, just making the Arrow-verse, which is what we call Legends, Flash and Arrow work and then making Supergirl work, it's enough of a challenge without having to add a fourth player."

Thank goodness they made the change, Martian Manhunter is a more compelling character than Hank Henshaw, now things are more interesting and makes the show better with the new dynamic between "Hank", Alex and Kara.
The episode was one of the best so far, but they should stop the Kara-Jimmy-Lucy-Wynn angst, Berlanti & co have done a very poor job with their relationship dramas on Arrow and The Flash, they should know better by now, but they're still making the same mistakes on Arrow (again!)![]()
If WB wants this show to last longer, they should let them use Superman sans restrictions, cause with Kara and Martian Manhunter, they already have a mini-JL, just add another female like Star Girl, other recurring members and voilà!! They could do a couple of JL episodes per season, it could be their big event, this way they don't have to depend on crossovers with the CW, more difficult to do like TPTB have acknowledged:
[Does anyone think they will show more of Hank in his green MM form or will we get to keep seeing him in disguise? Probably the latter.

The producers made the decision to make Henshaw ans J'onn J'onzz one and the same character WHILE they were filming the Pilot, but didn't tell David until much later.
There's nothing wrong with what they're doing with James/Kara/Winn/Lucy.
There's been zero indication that Superman is off-limits to them, regardless of what some posters here believe, and numerous reasons to be convinced that they're using Superman the way that they are by choice.
Re: an Arrow-verse crossover, I'm positive that Berlanti and Adler know whether or not it's legally possible, for them to do one shoyld they want to, regardless of Kreisberg using the "royal we" in the answer you quoted
You know this how?
You take everything they say for gospel yet when Kreisberg said they didn't know if it was legally possible you don't. So you only take what they say when it suits your point? Hmm noticing a pattern here.
Statements from Andrew Kreisberg and David Harewood.
I am basing my belief that Kreisberg's comment may not be accurate on previous statements from Berlanti and Adler - who are the two supervising EPs and whose job it is to know beyond any doubt what they can and cannot do - as well as on previous statements and comments from the President of The CW (whose name escapes me at the moment) and former CBS Entertainment President Nina Tassler.
^ Did you not see where I said that they made a Martian Manhunter suit for David Harewood to wear? We will see J'onn's true form again in future episodes.
