BvS Superman??? Harry Lennix is General Swanwick in BvS: Dawn of Justice

Yay! :woot:

I was hoping that he'd return for this movie, not just because I liked his character, but because recurring characters add much to continuity and make fictional universes become more believable.

Really couldn't care less if his character returns or not.

If his character was General Wade Eiling or General Sam Lane then I might care, but I really don't care about characters that aren't in the comics.

While i like Gen Swanwick I'm still surprised with the military involvement in the last film and this one that General Sam Lane hasn't been cast.

You could play up some great/emotional scenes between Superman/Clark, Sam and Lois.

I can see how the military was involved in the last one - I mean it was in the same vein as an alien invasion for goodness sake! I would have thought the Air Force would be more involved more than the Army though, but whatever.

I do agree that the introduction of General Lane in MoS would have made more sense - there could have been a couple of good moments between father and daughter to strengthen her character a bit more.

Weird that multiple people didn't like his character. What exactly did he do or say that was so off putting?
I can see being neutral but NOT liking him? Weird.

Glad to hear this. I like Lennix a lot as an actor and I thought he was a good addition to MOS. I wish he was utilized a little better in The Blacklist. They should kill off Diego Klattenhoff's boring character to give Lennix more screentime.

I didn't dislike his character, I just didn't find him endearing or interesting enough to warrant screentime in the sequel.

I guess since the army will be a big part it'makes sense to bring him back.

He was totally forgettable. The are you effing stupid line was a bad attempt to add humor. What was to enjoy about his character?

Maybe Snyder will do a George Lucas... "I always intended Lennix to become Martian Manhunter" ;)

Snyder: "I always meant for him to be Martian Manhunter."
Fanboy: "I dunno, I always thought he'd make a good Darkseid."
Snyder: "That's exactly what I meant."

That wasn't the purpose of the line. It was of making him really angry and taking out his rude side. Like if they haven't heard or used that word, you cool guys :oldrazz: That's claim always seemed to me a little odd and exagerated IMO.

You know, if Darkseid is all CG (or even if he isn't, whoever plays him will be wearing a ton of makeup) Lennix could play Darkseid. After all, in LOTR, Gimli was Treebeard and no one noticed.

He's a nice actor. Glad he's back. If they can connect him to a Col or Major or lutheniant Samuel Lane it would be even greater.

I did lol, they have the same exact voice and the tree's face even looks similar, for me atleast it was hard NOT to notice lol

You mean General Lane. :funny:
I know but if there's General Swanwick, that means Sam Lane needs to be on a more higher level, lower level or just they put Swanwick on a higher level and then Gral Lane is on scene.

Is there a rule saying there can't be two generals in one film? Anyway Sam Lane is a comic character he should take higher precedence.

Also worth noting is that there are four ranks of General/Admiral in the US military. I believe Swanwick was a three star, so there are options if it's that big of a deal.

Wow. Didn't now that... That opens the possibility.
