BvS Superman??? Harry Lennix is General Swanwick in BvS: Dawn of Justice

Harry Lennix talks about BvS.

Moviefone asked Lennix if he could speak at all about what fans could expect from Batman v. Superman. He couldn’t, but he did say that fans of Frank Miller’s seminal Batman graphic novel will be happy with the film.

“’Batman v Superman’ ... [Laughs] Well, no. Anybody who's a fan of the '86 graphic novel "The Dark Knight Returns," I think will be well pleased by that. This is a historic event. Clearly, Zack Snyder is on the cutting edge of directing movies of this scope and scale. I think you can depend on the acting -- you've got Amy Adams, of course. You've got Henry [Cavill]. I don't think there are any surprises with regard to that. What will happen remains to be seen. I'd probably wind up in a box some place.”

Trolling Lennix :o

Seriously I interpreted that Batman fans could be happy because the personality OF BATMAN is from that book, not necessarily the aspects of superman, cause we've already seen them in MOS WAY DIFFERENT with the military.. Superman won't be from that book. ;)

I certainly hope not. As a Batman fan, I did enjoy Miller's Batman but I don't want the story to be adapted in live action and it's honestly quite overrated.

One good thing for movies is that they can use the best things from many comics to have a nice character.

agreed. If they use DKR for Batman along with other stories good that can work. As long for Superman they use Elliot S Maggin, Mark Waid, Grant Morrison, Otto Binder, Dan Jurgen, Kevin Anderson , Tom DeHaven Greg Pak and Geoff Johns stories for Superman inspiration. As long as they make the characters work and treat with respect and show new fans why they should love the characters and why they should respect them as characters. But if they treat one character right by having them disrespecting and demean another character(be it batman to Superman or vice-versa or anything), then I would not watch this movie. But until then it's wait and see.

I think he was going for the fact that you have Superman and Batman in the movie, simple as that.

Pulling inspirations from TDKR is much different than adapting it. I'm pretty sure Snyder is aware of the decades of history between Clark and Bruce before they had "the fight." Snyder has already said multiple times this isn't an adaptation of it. I'm not sure why people continue to question it. Nolan took inspiration from many classic story lines and adapted none of them. It makes sense that Snyder would do the same thing. It wouldn't make much sense to adapt TDKR when you're about to "blow up" the cinematic universe.

That is from Man of Steel. Not BvS and its was mocap for Namek. the Guy in the green is holding a pole, which was used to give the height for the character.

Also worth noting is that there are four ranks of General/Admiral in the US military. I believe Swanwick was a three star, so there are options if it's that big of a deal.

Admirals - there are five (six if you count wartime).

Generals - the acronym "Be My Little General":
Brigadier General (One Star)
Major General (Two Stars)
Lt. General (Three Stars)
General (Four Stars)

....and the Five Star is 'General of the Army', but there hasn't been one of those since Dwight D. Eisenhower during WWII.

Personally...I liked Swanwick. If you know any General in the US Army, he played one very well.

John, what is General Swanwick's first name??
This one :funny:

Not sure if real...
Yes it is. It's from MOS.

Nam-ek mo-cap guy was different.. This is Lennix, which makes me wonder if he asked snyder if he could play a little as Nam-ek or if he's doing another thing that it doesn't have to do with the stick the other guy had. They're on set.. and we never saw Lennix with the stick, but as I've said I can't say one or other thing for sure.

All that. Supes was established as no sucker or yes man in MoS; they're not gonna reverse that right off the bat in BvS just for the catalyst for a fist fight with Bruce
