I didn't know that the same company that made the fletcher cartoons are the same ones that made Popeye. Hahaha What if Superman had to actually eat Kryptonite to get his super powers?t: Finishing my assist in the digression in this thread; I didn't know they were making a new Popeye cgi movie either. Yes the kids arm is real, he was born with some kind of condition that makes one arm much larger than the other.
How did a topic about Superman's power levels turn into a discussion of Popeye's disgustingly disproportional forearm muscles?

What makes you think that?

"Genndy Tartakovsky Will Direct a New Popeye Movie
The creator of 'Dexter's Laboratory' and 'Samurai Jack' will bring the classic cartoon to the big screen... with CG-animation."
"Variety reports that Genndy Tartakovsky will take over the Popeye project at Sony Pictures, which has been in development for two years. Last we heard, the screenplay was being written by Jay Scherick and David Ronn, whose previous credits include such comedy "classics" as The Smurfs, Norbit and The Zookeeper. The film is to be made in 3D CG-animation. For purists, the only part of this equation that inspires any confidence whatsoever may be Tartakovsky."

But yeah... Superman's power level in Earth One is just fine by me.![]()
Fleischer made both the Superman and Popeye Cartoons around the same time period. The thing is that Fleischer made Popeye more powerful (he could knock people all the way to stars whereas Superman couldn't). I want to see Superhuman more powerful than that.

I wouldn't say that meant Popeye was more powerful, I think it had more to do with his world being more looney tuney.
