Supernatural: Season 9

Remember history or you are sure to repeat it.

Cain slew Abel.
That will be start of season anyway

Listening to Crowley's speech to Dean at the end I think it's safe to assume this was his game plan all along. To get Dean to change into this. Which once again makes Crowley the best villain the series has given us (despite the fact that I want him dead).

Actually, him back in the strained ally role next season would be interesting, only if they have him acting as Yoda to Dean's Luke. I can see him having him on a leash in season 10, calling on Dean to clean up Hell and get rid of leftover Abbadon followers and such. One thing though I hope Sam trying to save Dean doesn't look too much like Season 3.

For next season I want the stakes to be raised. The aftermath of the Fall wasn't as epic as I had originally hoped. So with the Save Dean goal I want a second storyline that's big. I have no idea what they could do though.

One thing for sure is they wont let one of two main stars be a demon for the rest of the show. He will be a human again in no time

Yeah by the midseason finale. I'm calling it. And it will be at a price.

The end scene was AWESOME!!! Finally a really good cliffhanger! I just hope and pray that he won't get cured in like 1-2 episodes! Would love the idea of a totally different Dean, an evil badass Dean!

I don't get the "let's leave Metatron alive".. for what purpose? Just to show Castiel doesn't wanna kill more angels? Somehow he will get out of there, I bet! That being said, S10 should be the last one, but I can't say I won't watch if it goes on for more, as long as they have good stories left, fine by me!

He'll obviously end up human again. They just need to let this stick for a sufficient amount of time to explore new territory. We've never had front row seats to a human soul turning into a demon. I hope they play that up.

I hope its executed better than Bobby becoming a vengeful spirit. Which was just lousy.

I was kinda ready for the angel thing to end and move on to something a bit more interesting to be honest

I don't blame you. The angels have gotten somewhat meh. Surprisingly demons haven't yet.

If anything I want them to go back to being cool badass biblical creatures and not corporate officials.

So I guess after this we get the angel side of things via Sam

You know what's funny: Sam has always been the faithful believer and yet he gets stuck in the demon crap, meanwhile Dean who was an atheist gets on Heaven's good side. I know Dean was on purpose but I wonder if the writers meant to do that with Sam. And now next season we might get a role reversal.

But NO to Sam getting angel powers. Maybe a Heavenly weapon but no angel powers.

If Sam is going to be on his own again while Demon Dean hangs with Crowley & for the times Castiel can not be around Sam is gonna need some help

I doubt it will happen in "no time". This isnt a case of needing to resurrect Dean. His soul is a demon now. Not just any demon but the successor to Caine who was appointed to his position by Lucifer himself. Sam and Cas have to convert his soul back to its human state which we know isnt easy to do to a normal demon. Dean is no normal demon. He is the top demon. Thats some serious power. Plus if there was an easy to find cure Caine would have found it.

My guess, the cure is on the angel tablet. Lucifer was an angel so his powers even the evil ones are angel powers. So the cure to undo what Lucifer created may be on the angel tablet. Cas broke the angel tablet so that presents a problem. However, the one person who has read it is luckily in custody...yep, Metatron is the key to saving Dean. That is why Carver didnt kill Metadouche.

They've already shown a way to absolve a demon of sin so that will most likely be part of how Dean gets saved.

I´m also surprised that Crowley was ok with Dean coming back as a demon since presumably Dean is now a knight of hell and as such likely to be more powerful than Crowley. Dean is also not known for taking orders well.

Dean isn't a Knight of Hell. The one who possesses the Mark trains and leads the Knights so he would be a General or Commander of Hell not a Knight.

Basically, he should just be like Cain, not a crazed demon trying to slaughter everything and everyone (although I'd love to see a demonic, badass, evil Dean for once and in the same time, would love to see Jensen playing a different Dean than the usual!).

Metatroll has got to go.
I don't know what problem you've got with him, as long as he stays imprisoned.

We already got a reversal this season imo: Cas & Sam had more of a connection, while on the other side, Dean & Crowley had their own connection, even though it was different. I like the changes that happened to Sam: he is more rational, he wants to kill Crowley, doesn't wanna work with demons in general, he even cut Cass some slack, when Dean was being a biatch! However, it buggs me that he didn't "call" Cass when Dean was stabbed in the finale, but CROWLEY! Why was that? Could it be because Cass isn't full on power?

They are too "dumb" and "powerless". Or maybe it's the writers' fault who made Season 4 that made us hope for too much...

I just hope he doesn't return for a whole arc. If he has to let it be an episode. He wasn't that cool of a villain to me.

Good question, but then again they never seem to call on Cas to resurrect a person when it makes sense. I don't get their logic on reviving someone using angel magic. Like at the end of Season 8 where Sam was supposed to die....Cas wasn't gonna be able to bring him back? When Rufus was killed...they couldn't call Cas to bring him back? Maybe Sam just angry and figured Crowley was to blame.

Yeah Season 4 hyped them to be amazing, and they were in their initial appearance. But their presence has gotten stale since then because I feel like they're not taking the angels that seriously anymore. Like I get this season they were trying to adjust to human life, but angels having bowling teams? Being pop stars? Blah

I personally hate it when a powerful and cool villain (or a good guy) is later nerfed in order to make some one else seem more powerful. Or, as is the case with Supernatural, in order to keep them from becoming either plot machines or plot holes.

Of all the items that SN has introduced the one I hate the most is the angel knives, they are just really stupid imo and are really only there so that the Winchesters can kill angels. I really hate how angels try to knive Sam and Dean with them instead of just going all glowing eyes and frying them on the spot which would be a much better tactic to use.

Well, what can I say?
This season felt pretty... bleak, I guess is the best word.
Maybe even a little bit uninspired.

I guess I'm way too late for this discussion, but I feel after Kripke's run, and the shows supposed intended ending (though I remember this just being a rumor back then, correct me if I'm wrong.), they've gone a little overboard with the war for heaven stuff.

I liked the 6th season dealing with the effects of Lucifer's cage on Sam, but pretty much everything else was where they started to descent into madness basically. :woot:
Season 7 was somehow pretty cool with all it's cheesiness, the Leviathan story was ridiculous but fun. And the following purgatory/tablet stuff in season 8 was also interesting. I especially liked Ty Olsson/Benny, he was a really great addition to the cast and I was really bummed out they killed him off. (At least that's how I remember it, once again: correct me if I'm wrong.) And the bunker was a great idea after Bobby's house was burned down.
As you can see, I pretty much liked everything besides the Angel stories.
This worked great in season 4/5, but now they just seem boring.
The same thing applies to the war for Hell, even though I liked that they showed us more of Crowley's ambitions.

That being said, Singer and Carver lost me halfway through the season, because I just got so fed up with the whole Metatron/Angel/Castiel/Angel Army-thingy. I watched the last few episodes I missed over the past couple of days, basically just to get it over with, and it almost felt like a chore except for the last 2 episodes.
The conclusion of the season was good, not overly great, but it felt right.
Dean [BLACKOUT]becoming a demon[/BLACKOUT] was kinda predictable at some point, but not a bad decision.

All in all, and I'm not trying to be a whiner here, I got to say that to me the show has lost much of it's original appeal to me, which is kinda sad.
But, oh well, who actually cares? It's for the most part still a fun show, and will still be a weekly thing for me to watch this fall.
I'm just hoping they bring it all to an end with the next season.
Maybe bring back Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Jim Beaver for one or two episodes and I'm happy. I wanna see the "original" three Winchesters and Bobby fighting side by side for the shows finale.

I am kind of surprised they went there but at the same time I also see they had little else to go with since they've done everything else so many times.

I will not be disappointed in it unless it's resolved in the season premiere, or soon after. Then it's a waste of a potentially big arc.

ending was predictable but I liked it. what else was the blade going to turn him into? I hope this is the end for Metatron and the angel rebellion arc. if not, at least get Metatron a new meat suit.

Booger is the best, goddammit. :o
