Lmao Ralph is the dumbest guy to have ever played the game.

I didn't like the edit of Special Agent Shepherd's Bushido Code analysis of tonight's duel. I want the full speech unedited, CBS!

I think Phillip has turned the tables in recent weeks. Ometepe laughs at him, but they seem to be enjoying him whereas before the girls couldn't stand him. I feel his words at Tribal endeared him a little to the girls on his tribe.

Now he's wearing the feathered headband next week? Is this guy embracing and playing the bat***** crazy guy to perfection now, or what? Phillip Shepherd has a strategy to win this game!

Sorry but without question Matt made the dumbest move tonight - he's out of the game.

At least Andrea is still IN game because anything can happen now. Honestly, with the edits thus far this season, I only see Rob or Andrea winning. They're the only ones thus far that has had any sort of complexity to their edits.

Everyone else is too ignored to be winners, or in the case of Philip, too over the top.

Wow...I'm not quite sure what to say about tonight's episode! The 'Redemption Island' twist goes on for another round!?

The other thing that annoys me about Matt is he won six duels and them back and makes a dumb mistake and gets voted for a second time in one season.

He brought absolutely nothing to the show in general personality nor gamewise and we lost interesting female characters like Fran, Kristina, Stephanie, or heck even Sarita or Krista, who could have shaken up the game and made it a bit more interesting or less predictable.

So worthless.

That's short-term thinking. She can still be in the game and have her boytoy playing with her. She should have been pulling his strings. She let him get out of control and then she had to cut her strongest ally. That's not a win for her. Maybe she does overcome it with some slick moves, but losing your strong #2 isn't good business.

I'm not going to get into the merits of the amount and quality of camera time.

Wait, you think a player that won six challenges in a row is worthless, yet Sandra the ablsolute worthless player in Survivor history who never won one single challenge and only won last season because more people hated Russell isn't?

Matt may be a dummy and not know how to play the game socially, but he isn't worthless.

Wow, very interesting episode.

I have no idea what Matt is thinking. His flip-flopping and being completely clueless just got the better of him. I think he was just overmatched on the social side. Spilling his thoughts to Rob was suicide. I also didn't understand his reasoning ... I want to do God's will so I'll stay loyal to my original tribe ... but I'll backstab all the others and tell their every intention?

I agree - I want the longwinded, unedited version of all of Philip's speeches. The guy is Survivor gold.

The only thing I don't agree with you on is ... I don't think he's playing the bat**** crazy guy. I think he might actually be a nutcase.

Although ... it would be awesome at the reunion show for him to be like "Honestly, that was all an elaborate act. I'm actually a drama teacher at XYZ Highschool. I even have some of my students here with me tonoight Jeff".

As Probst has mentioned on his blog, Philip honestly believes what he says, but he has fun with it. I think the real Phil gets out every now and then, but for the most part he plays it with a twinkle in his eye.

That would be hilarious if he was just a drama teacher.

I was also expecting him to rub it in Ralph's face when played the idol "on" Mike. One of my favorite Philip Shepherd moments was at that duel when Russel tricked Ralph into revealing that he had the idol, then Ralph acts like he was bluffing, but then Philip is all on his case, "I'm an expert in human behavior and have been trained to tell when someone is telling the truth or not, and you sir have the hidden immunity idol."

Agreed. Matt's an idiot, but the show needs idiots too. He is more or less the suffering servant of Survivor right now. Now you're wondering if he can go on another run and what if he makes it back into the game? It would almost be as though he's been on three seasons of Survivor and what has he learned each time. Not much on the second go 'round, but what if there's another chance?

He should embrace the Devil on Redemption Island and become the biggest backstabber in Survivor history.

Now that would be kind of funny. He suddenly just embraces all things evil, screws over everyone he can, Jesus H Chirst becomes his catch phrase ... etc :awesome:

After tonight I don't think he's completely crazy. He was more or less entertaining his tribe mates and possibly himself during the Matt/Sarita duel.
So I guess I still think he's a little nutty but turns up the dial because he's encouraged a bit.

As for Matt he isn't out of the game yet but those Redemption Island challenges will get tougher and so will his opponents. It would be amazing if he held out until the end. I think the next Redemption Islander will reenter the game as a finalist.

"Anytime a group of individuals likes the same thing, I dont like that."

Rob basically just described how I am every day of my life.

I guess what happened to Matt was pretty funny, but it proves the worthlessness of the Redemption Island twist.

I'd say it shows more worthlessness of having a player on your show that has zero knowledge of how to play it. First he decides to let the game come to him, which never works. Then he gets voted out first. Then what does he do when he gets back? He confides in the person that engineered his voting out, by telling him he had planned to vote him out, but changed his mind. And he was generally surprised when it happened. Really?

I like the Redemption Island twist this year and think it could be a great addition to future shows, but they need to get more wolves on the show and less lambs.

If they had just voted out Steve, Matt still could have flipped and convinced Andrea at a later time and Ometepe would have been screwed anyway.

I think it was lose/lose for Rob and Ometepe either way.

Rob still has an idol though. There was no need to make the move he made other than sheer paranoia.

Exactly. Matt being a complete moron doesn't prove that Redemption Island is a worthless twist.

Had any of the ladies that he defeated on RI come back instead, it's almost a guarantee that they would have lasted longer than he did simply because they weren't absolute morons and understood the game.

I'll agree that he should have waited one week. Get Steve out and then send Matt to face him. I can see wanting to get Matt out early due to his acumen as an individual challenge specialist, but there isn't going to be a duel before the next Tribal Council, so get Steve out and then Matt.

We know Matt is naive, but where is Andrea protecting him and telling him to shut up? She let her closest ally blah himself out of the game when she should have been dictating his strategy. I mean, how hard is it to tell him, "God is a vengeful, jealous God. He wants Rob gone." He would have eaten that crap up.

She said she flipped on him because he is "flakey." Jealousy over a girl giving him a bible very well cost her this game. If she had Matt as her loyal foot soldier, teamed up with Zapatera and Marine Mike, they would've been final three and she would've won.

Andrea annoys the crap out of me. Another emotionally stunted 22 year old girl from the valley.

Matt is okay, aside from the whole Jesus-freak thing. Like Rob, I have no problem if you're religious. But I do have a problem when you spout about it every other sentence, because you have nothing interesting to say that you didn't read in the bible. If you drank a shot for every time Matt said "God" in this episode you would be having your stomach pumped in a hospital by the first commercial break.

And then in the ultimate show of Phillip Shepard brilliance, it turns out to be a triple cross to re-establish his cover and kill Osama Bin Laden once and for all!

Agreed. But I blame the producers for this. Like I've said before, they basically stacked the tribes so one would worship the returning player and the other would vote him out instantly. They didn't know who would go where, but they made one tribe very easy to manipulate and the other paranoid to a fault (to the point where it caused their tribe to self destruct). I feel like the producers stacked this game to give Rob or Russell success based on which buff they drew.

How was Andrea suppose to know that Matt was going to blab to Rob while they were having their little moment out on the beach? There's only so much one person can do to control someone else's mouth.

Once he blabbed and completely threw her under the bus, she had absolutely no reason to stick with him at that point. If they had flipped, what would have kept him from blabbing the truth to someone else at a later point in the game and screwing her over?

I think at this point, she did the best move she possibly could. Mike promising her F3 was dumb because I don't think for a second that she actually thought that he would ditch a solid four person alliance just to take her and Matt the F3. Really? lol

Rob still has an idol though. There was no need to make the move he made other than sheer paranoia.

Yea but why wait, when you can totally nip it in the bud now and not even have to worry about using an idol when you don't want too?

The problem is then according to your theory Phillip should be on the other team. He is definitely the most paranoid and neurotic contestant I've seen in many seasons. But besides that you're pretty spot on.

I hate the so-called paranoid tribe though (I have no idea how to spell their ridiculous name). When the most likable person on your tribe is a rat-faced 30 year old lawyer, then you have serious problems. I don't understand how anyone can respect a completely illiterate bumpkin like Ralph either. He should be the Phillip of that tribe, a complete joke. But then they're all pretty much jokes on that tribe. Phillip finally hit the right note with his speech at Tribal about them.

I would really like someone with some iMovie or Youtube skills to make a Phillip Shepard/24 parody.
