I too felt the finale was a bit off from what we're used too. Cassie being sent forward; so when she dies in 2017, she has already been through all the time travel stuff we're yet to see, so at some point she is sent back. Her splintering felt forced .
The more I think about it the less sense it makes. Cassie being thrown in the future would create a time paradox. For Cole to be rescued in Chechnya in 2017 Cassie must send the military there. Then she gives Cole the note which saves his life in 2015. From 2015 - 2017 Cassie is frantically trying to develop a cure but succumbs to the virus and dies. If none of those things happen then Cole never gets the mission and the two never meet in 2013. So now we are to assume that Cassie will be inoculated in 2043 and then somehow still dies in 2017?

The finale scene with Jennifer. So she's the one who spreads the virus; looks like it was 12 suit cases. I assume the kids weren't in those cases, so she spreads the virus and the kids were created to what..combat it in the future..? Confused about that part...
12 kids, 12 destinations, 12 suitcases, army of the 12, 12 Monkeys, 12 Emperor Palpatines (lol, thx Hunter Rider) I think they're over doing it.
Jennifer is hilarious though and I really enjoy her. I was seriously rolling w/ her dodo bird bit. Also, I was completely lost w/ the 12 isn't a Prime Number bit from earlier in the season so thanks to her I actually took the time to look up that utterly useless knowledge.
