If the family/relative/friends want revenge for what he did, then they're no better than the scum he took out.

1. Indeed they aren't. They are, however, grieving the loss of loved ones, and in many cultures, it's considered a matter of honor to avenge the death of a family member, regardless of what despicable things the family member in question may have done in life.
2. They might not have been aware of what their family members did (i.e. I highly doubt the auction manager guy's wife and children knew what he really did for a living, he probably had some sort of cover job).
3. If they knew, they may have felt it was just business, the same way the auction manager guy felt. It's kind of like how poachers in Africa who hunt endangered species do so because it's the only way to feed their families. It's horrible and inhuman, of course (I am an aspiring minister, and when I have a church of my own, I'm planning to do all I can to see if my church can form a kind of partnership with one of the organizations dedicated to fighting human trafficking), but it's how they'd try to justify what they do.

I agree with you,,, but not same director.. and does this kind of story really warrant a sequel? I hope its good.. Im a massive fan of the 1st.. Stop all the kidnapping Liam!

They really should have went with the idea of someone else coming to him for help with an abduction. HIm or anyone in his immediate family getting taken again is uite outlandish. Reading most of those reviews they have the same issues, Rehash, No plot, Liam killing as ussual. Its clear liam did this for a payday and nothing else.

Damn, that sucks.. It would have been cool if he got back in his buisness and they link up to the previous movie with it... I agree the immediate family thing again just dosent interest me .

oh crap this director did the transporter movies? I hated those... my excitement level just dropped down 50%...

But I'll still watch it since Liam is in it... I doubt it will be as good as the original though... it just reeks of cashin... Taken always seemed like it wouldn't have a sequel, and if it did, it'd just be to rely on the popularity of the first.

as fast as there releasing movies these days on dvd and depending on if this bombs and doesnt last long in theaters I will say 1st week of jan this will hit BLURAY/DVD. If you guys can wait that long it isnt that far away.

Rehashing or not, It's a action film with Liam Neeson, that alone makes any film better.

I read that Taken 2 has too much up close shakey camera. What? The first one benefited from having fast but clean looking action where you can see everything. It's like a de-evolution.

Thats my one pet peeve about fight scenes in any movie, pull the camera back and let us see the action we paid to see. I know the director is trying to create the fight atmosphere but good lord. Same with transformers, its was like someone shaking toys in your face and asking you to follow along.
