Talk Show and OTHER interviews DISCUSSION

the Silver Farter???

Great interview. There's actually a bit of footage here of Sue talking to The Silver Surfer directly. She says something about "...our planet..." but the host is talking over it. Then there's a very funny story about Doug Jones smelling up the set. LOL Very funny stuff. Not sure if this is new or old but I've never seen it.

Edit: Wait a minute here? Did Ioan say Doug was in a latex suit? I can't wait to see the making of feature on the DVD. Also this confirms Doug was actually on the set with the rest of the cast at least for sometime. I thought he was only over at WETA and never on set. Hmmmmm.

This was already posted by THE Albafan who will start crying now because no one is looking in the video thread!

Regards,
Maestro

Yep - that's one of Doug's favourite stories! He thought the suit would contain it, but ... :D

Ioan boring???? He's adorable!!! Not much taken with the interviewer though. Interesting stuff. Doug was down in New Zealand in April, so I'll have to see if I can find the interview ...

Oh hell sorry Albafan. I never even thought of posting new videos there. I thought that was just an archive where everything gets put later by mods or something. Oh well. So all videos of all kinds just go there. That's kind of vague. There's also an interview thread too. I'm confused. LOL

Edit: The video thread is locked anyways so you can't discuss anything there.

DId you see my other comment though? So Doug WAS on set with the rest of the cast. That is news to me.

Uh .. yeah. Of course he was. Doug acted just as he would in any other role. Of course he was there. The fart story is that they were filming in the cold streets of Vancouver in early November, and Doug being Doug, if he gets cold he shivers like a chihuahua. So after filming a scene he legged it into a tent where they had a space heater, where he was joined by Ioan and Jessie. To cut a long (and hilarious) story short, the fart happened, and Doug thought the Surfer suit would contain it - which it didn't, and he tried to blame it on some porta-loos outside the tent. Ioan, being the discreet and diplomatic gentleman he is, agreed, but Jessie, sweetheart girl, wasn't quite so succinct. She nailed Doug like a dawg! :D:D:D

^ I thought you said he was never actually on set with the cast but somewhere else...cold. I probably misunderstood you. Well then...very cool.

Nah - I said he was filming somewhere very cold ... at that time it was the Whistler Glacier. He was always part of the cast. Sorry if I was being obtuse. :o

I knew he was part of the cast...just didnt' realize he worked with them on set at the same time. That makes a big difference to me.

Lol.... okay, all I'll say- and don't bash me for this- is that there is something very hilarious in one of the posts above that you will see if your mind, like mine, is in the gutters. Just didn't want to sound too immature.

You will probably not see Doug or the suit on the DVD extras. I think Fox will continue with the 'man in a green motion capture suit' routine.

When questioned at the MTV Movie Awards red carpet which film would do better at the summer box office (FF:ROTSS or Transformers), Jessica Alba simply answered:

"Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer is going to be the best family comedy of the summer"

Hmmmm.......family comedy? I was more in the mood for an epic comicbook action film. :o

LMFAO! well alba is known to say stupid things. i cant remember what it was. o ok she sayed "i cant believe paparazii is a job. only losers do it" lol well those losers gets alots of money for one pic of u lol

FACT: Paparrazzi are horrible low life scum losers of the entertainment industry who should not be looked at- at all- with praise for what they do.

And yeah, it's kind of a family comedy- lol- but, it's a family comedy with action, adventure and sci-fi elements mixed into it. The Fantastic Four, the comic, has always striked me as having that funny familial aspect with lots of epic ideas and things mixed into that. But, yeah- the quote should have been more specific.

Yeah i just saw that i'm sure she meant to say number one family action/comedy of the year.

Indiana Jones, Back to the Future, and Ghostbusters are ALL family comedy. So let her be.

:ff: :ff: :ff:

Somehow I don't remember the Galactus trilogy or The Doomsday arc as being family comedy fair.

And the bug soup and the pulling out of the heart wasn't all that Rockwellian either, but Temple of Doom still had Short Round. :)
