The Dark Knight TDK Director's Cut?

thanks you!

Nolan doesn't do extended cuts of movies and stuff bu there is one out in theaters and its called The Dark Knight
Actually, this may be a first time he does it. I swear I read the movie was originally gonna be like 3 hours long, but he had to edit it down for Theaters.

And there are drops of blood on Harv's pillow in the hospital...

There's your blood!

I was always under the impression that Chris Nolan's final work is what he wants you to see...thus being the director's cut. And he's said before that he cut Heath's performance just as they had intended. So, as much as I would love to have more movie on a DVD, I think what we got is pretty much it.

that one scene of Joker in the backseat of the car (with a goon as the driver) is absent in the movie, despite being the second picture released during the virals. HMMM.

I'm pretty sure that's him leaving Bruce's party. There's a scene that says the Joker gets in a car after he leaves the party. I doubt we'll see it on the DVD.

Yes, Nolan included everything he WANTED for the story, but they did film a lot more.

-Where is Batman running on the cop cars from the trailer?

-Where is Joker in the back seat of a regular car, with a goon that we saw filmed, and we got a picture from the virals?

-Where are all the different takes on MANY scenes that we've seen in almost EVERY trailer?

-Where is the scene where Batman throws Oldman the money?

Sure, Nolan included everything he wanted for the story, but why the hell can't they include these in the DVD? If they don't, I say thats pretty weak on their part.

Oh, I'm not saying that there won't be deleted scenes on the DVD...I'm just saying don't except a "director's cut". It's already in theaters.

That a "Theatrical" cut. Even if the Directors cut is the same, it's still called a Theatrical Cut.

That was in the movie.
No it wasn't. We saw Batman scan some bills for radiation, and then gave it to Oldman. They filmed a scene where Batman was throwing BIG bags of money to Oldman. The bags were so heavy, that Oldman kept dropping it.:cwink:

wasn't there also a scene with gordon walking into the bank yelling," Anarchy, anarchy"

You're talking semantics. I'm saying the version in theater's is what Chris Nolan wanted you to see...making it his "director's cut". There won't be an extented version.

What, are you TRYING to rub it into my face? Technically, I'm not wrong. We have yet to see a dvd release and even if Nolan likes it the way it is, he could at some point change something for the dvd release.

I also remember the interview where it was mentioned that the film was already at the 3 hour mark as well.

yes i remember them saying it be 3 hours too but tah twas a rumor, and they've already talked about the dvd release and if you want the link i'll get it for ya.

and they wouldn't say oooooooo lets change this scene for the dvd no one will know, they don't do that.

BB didn't have deleted scenes on the DVD even though there were a few.

but i want an extend edition and deleted scenes so I'm not saying you are wrong about it being 3 hours, I'm saying you are wrong about Nolan possibly making one. i mean who knows he may but its a slight chance

There are definitely, going to be deleted scenes for the DVD. If I'm not mistaken Gordon tells Batman that Harvey had killed 5 people before he died. I only remember Harvey killing 2 people. Where were the other 3 deaths?

We don't need an extended cut for this. Some movies need it, but TDK really doesn't.

Also, if they make an alternative cut, I will be furious. I already hate that the real cut of a movie is never put in theaters anymore. I want to experience the true movie in the theater (way it was meant to be seen) not on DVD!!!

Also, I don't get the impression much was cut from TDK. BB never got an EE, so I don't see it in TDK's future. I am glad at least one filmmaker's movies aren't watered down versions of it in theaters.

how do you know that there will be deleted scenes, yes there are some out there but that doesn't mean its on the dvd, and don't ask a question like...Gordon tells Batman that Harvey had killed 5 people before he died. I only remember Harvey killing 2 people. Where were the other 3 deaths?...

that goes in the TDK ask a question thread
