The military boat up there is an experimental vehicle called Stilleto. It's got the stealth design of the Tumbler and is capable of high speeds while leaving a minimal wave signature. It's not in use yet but the idea is that it will transport and land commando teams. It's also packed with tech so it can be used as a mobile operations platform for surveillance and tactical strikes. It's supposed to be 'flexible' so it can easily accommodate any combination of weapons or tech, including launching unmanned aerial vehicles. Picture a smaller version for Bats, with the stealth paneling, the arches in the hull and some sleeker design.

Next pic - this thing is actually called the Batboat by it's designers. It's a racer with improved handling. It's goes hard and fast but that's about it.

I think that toy would be perfect, good looking, practical, stealth

I agree ^ but I'd add the arches from the Stiletto to its hull. They look bat-like AND military. Also streamline that thing sticking out its back.

I have a feeling that Nolan wants a more stylized Gotham.

No offense to Chicago. I thought that the Narrows was well done, but I think Nolan wants to give Gotham a Blade Runner flair (like what he mentioned before). Hong Kong, esp at night, is glitz and glamour without being too flamboyant.

   especially on Bladeunner

I'm guessing Nolan is going to amp up several aspects in TDK, not just Batman and his villains but the fights, the moods, the city itself. Escalation, bring it on.

It'll be interesting to see what they use Hong Kong for

Hola Milkman. What's up?

Baltimore is about an hour and a half from here. I go up there to watch baseball games every summer. I can tell you what's in Balt'mor. Aside from the gorgeous Inner Harbor, there is only one thing you need to know about Baltimore:

IT'S A GARBAGE PILE.

Seriously. It is the most disgusting city I've ever been in. It's dirty, there is an enormous homeless population, which tells you about the job situation... and it's heavily crime-ridden. The Block, AKA the Red Light district, is RIGHT IN FRONT OF CITY HALL. And the last time I was there, there was a homeless guy standing in the bushes in front of city hall.

I think that tells you everything you need to know about Baltimore. It's a great location for shooting the ugly side of urban life.

They gotta say when filming happens there -- I'm going in!

Take a SWAT team with ya by the sound of things:wow:

I'd love a batboat sequence and that seems like a design that would fit withing Nolan's vision

LOL, yeah... it occurs to me the only part of Baltimore I've ever been in after dark is from the Inner Harbor, west past the convention center to Oriole Park at Camden Yards.

That's the good part. The rest I've seen, but only during the day... :o

In The Man Who Falls, Bruce travels to Paris and he meets Ducard there learning some skills.

That's what I thought of, but it also could just mean they moved filming from one place to another, but the setting is still Gotham.

Given the context of the article though, I still think it might be flashbacks.

Hmm interesting, if it is flashback then we could see TMWF stuff.

DETECTIVE SKILLS!

Flashbacks when he's trying to figure out identity of the Joker.

Yeah, we need to see a bit more of Batman's detective side, and the idea of flashbacks? No problem with that, but please not too many. :yay:
