I think it's probably because DVD piracy is so high, they have to get the real thing on the market much quicker to make a profit. I remember when the first X Files film was released, it was in cinema july and August but it didn't come out on DVD until March the following year. These days films in the cinemas in July are released in October or November. Mind you less waiting is a good thing for us fans.

I'm hoping this is the right thread to ask this in; to those of you who've been to a recent Imax showing in the UK, I'm interested to know, how have you found the audiences there? Do people react to the screen (laugh in the right places, clap at the end of the film), dress up/wear TDK shirts, etc?
