We'll see. This movie could have legs, next week only has Up and Drag Me To Hell - TS will still be the choice for action. The week after doesn't have anything similar either.

I feel a Wolverine type run here. All of the nerds claim that it has great word of mouth and it's just the critics that hate it and the movie has a huge opening weekend but doesn't do that well in the legs department.

I know Wolverine isn't finished with it's run but after this weekend theaters are going to drop it like a bad habit and it's going to be nothing but a memory. I believe it will be the highest opening movie not to reach 200mil. Not exactly a record any studio wants. Still it looked cheap so a sequel should be on the way.

Somehow I doubt Salvation is a dumb as Wolverine. If it is, then...seesh I can't even think about it!

I was surprised to see there wasn't alot of people in my theater last night. Nowhere near as ST.

It's better than Origins, but it could make less than those numbers.

I'm still rooting for ST right now all the way. How much has that made so far?

T3 would've had no effect had this movie been any good. Instead, it's crap and word of mouth will indeed kill it.

At any rate, both TS and NATM2 are disappointing so far. Apparently the box office takes from the holiday weekends in January and February kicked this Memorial Day weekend's butt. Which is rather mind-blowing...

That's why it was stupid of them to release the films at the SAME TIME. People had to split to see which film they would see. Either one or the other. These days, people can only see one film for a while.

In terms of box office, people like to mock T3 but it actually was a pretty good hit in 2003 with over 400 M worldwide. It certainly was Arnold's biggest hit since 1994's True Lies.

I think NATM2 will fall harder than TS cause Up is coming out in the next week...that will take it's audience. TS doesn't really have any new action movies out right now. I think its still a little late to say it's dead in the water

The fact that it only went up 11% yesterday is bad. The fact that it only opened with 13.4mil is bad. Unless this movie goes up 35% today it is dead in the water. Is it a little early to say that it's dead in the water? Probably, but these numbers aren't looking good and the early word isn't good so...I assume it's not going to be having a great run. I doubt NATM2 will drop harder because it's a family film even against Up.

If I'm wrong you will have bragging rights but I doubt this movie will hit 150mil and if it does I doubt it makes much more than that.
