Not doing so well I see...hopefully this stops the series
I was using that comparasion to show how what happens at one theater doesn't matter at all, so saying "my theater was full" doesn't mean s**t in the grand scheme of things. No comparisons to Spider-man are valid, and TS is doing terrible and it might not win the weekend.
I probably won't.You're not gonna like it Spidey. I just have a feeling you yourself won't.
$15? ? ?
what theater do you see your movies at?
It cost $5 for me to see it in the morning, $7.50 at night
you're just another case of ''over exagerating'' and blatantly trying to be an *******
get over yourself
Yup... that's how much it costs me these days as well. I can't afford those prices on a weekly or every other weekend basis... even during the summer season. Give me a film on par with Star Trek or Iron Man or TDK or I probably won't watch it in theatres.
The only ******* I see here is you.$15? ? ?

I usually take my wife with me to the movies so it costs near $20 (more if we decide to go out to dinner, etc) when I go as well. Luckily, I saw T4 alone and saved a little money lol. Rottentomatoes has actually saved me a lot of money the last few years. I've skipped many films in the theaters based on the ratings (especially if they're dismal) and when I eventually saw most of these films on DVD my usual thought was "I'm glad I skipped it" lol. The only time I'll see a film in theaters despite horrible ratings is if it's a martial arts film, a horror film or I simply have love for the franchise (which was Terminator's case). I'm trying to remember a film I regretted skipping in theaters and right now I can't think of one.
t:. I am glad most people acknowledge the reviews for these films because I am really tired of the few people writing off the critics when the reviews are bad. But most people have acknowledged that. And there are always those films where you are going to see it regardless of what the criticism is that's understandable... I have a few of those films coming up myself that I will probably pay for regardless. Maybe TS was that film for some people. Whatever the case may be, critics and fans have confirmed my fears for this film so I am grateful I won't be paying for it. Maybe if I am REALLY bored one afternoon and I am driving by the theatre I might catch a matinee.Hey look, there's Jonathan Mostow...
Now McG is hitting his kneecaps with a baseball bat. Thanks McG! You didn't do enough damage though.
So do you think that it will go up or fall today? I'm thinking a 5 to 10% increase but I wouldn't be surprised if it fell today.Good for you man...t:. No one was giving Mostow a pass either... we can go through all the hacks out there if you'd like though... it would only take us about a couple of years to mention them all.
I probably won't.
I'm plaining on seeing it tomorrow but I'm not locked into that idea, I could always find something else to do.
BTW I think that the previews for Salvation are freakin amazing even better than Star Treks. So congrats to the marketing department.
Right now, regardless of how I feel about the flick I hope this is the last Terminator movie because if the movie's aren't going to be anywhere near as good as T2 then whats the point?
For the record this is how I grade the franchise:
The Terminator: 7.5/10
T2: Judgement Day 11/10
T3: Rise of the Machines: 6.5/10
Hopefully Salvation isn't below the worse one.
It was a decent action flick but I stick to thinking that it was a bad Teriminator movie. If you liked T3 there's no way you could possibly dislike T4.
And if they've gone this far, we might as well atleast make another movie about sending back Reese/winning the war. We deserve it.
I personally think that the late bad buzz hurt this film opening weekend. It was pretty much flat yesterday according to Nikki Finke's early numbers (Again I am going to wait for Mojo's numbers but the numbers are usually pretty close) and it went up only 11% on friday. It's been doing quite poorly. The movie is probably going to do worse than T3's 72mil for it's first five days and it's damn sure selling less tickets. Jeez, I still haven't fully decided if I'm seeing it or not but I'm leaning towards not because the reviews from seemingly most have not been pretty.I was wary of this film before... but the reviews have done me in. I think I'll be waiting for the Netflix on this one.
And for the record, in my town we have several f the ripoff "Imax" screens in theaters, which while not Imax in the least are far better than normal movie screens...and tickets for those films are $13 plus tax, so $15 is not out of the question...

Memorial Weekend Battle Fizzles: 'Night At The Museum: Smithsonian' Easily Beats 'Terminator: Salvation' $55M vs $42M

First of all....HAPPY BIRTHDAY!I agree. Like i said somewhere else, when i first saw the trailer I KNEW this would be a great film, but after seeing the same footage a few more times decided that it would be quite the opposite. I'm not sure what changed my mind. The plot points Ive heard about are not exactly ripping the money out of my wallet, and from what I understand the film is a poorly done, unemotional film where nothing really happens.
I would say "maybe Terminator could move to TV", but...yeah...
I do think that the tv series has hurt interest in this, as there has been no jonesing for a Terminator...and I think people are already tiring of a bad summer season.
Today happens to be my birthday, so I have any number of people wanting to take me to the movies, but I'd rather not have them waste their cash.

Yep, that PG: 13 rating really brought in the masses. Seriously why one earth did they spend 200mil on the movie? Why did they release it the same weekend as NATM2? And was the best director available really McG? Also did we really need another Terminator movie after that useless third one? So many questions so little time.
For your information, the average price of a ticket in Australia, where I live, is $15. I recommend getting your facts correct before blowing a fuse accusing me of exaggerating.

Who would have thought Star Trek would have had such great legs? .
Not so surprising considering it got the best reviews of the summer block busters released so far. I think you can say Star Trek is this year's Iron Man.
I dont pay any attention to movies I dont want to see, so I actually didnt know that Night At The Museum was a sequel...but it really is killing the Terminator franchise. You dont spend that much on a movie and open at number 2. Its a jam packed may for action/sci fi films, and the last one out of the gate was going to suffer...and so it is.
