Similar character to Foxy Cletopatra (both send-ups of 70's blaxplotation heroines) but Ellis was way better. And she looks like the character, Beyonce doesn't. Beyonce can sing and she is fine, but she can't act one lick.

Bill Nunn was a bad choice for Robbie. You know what would've been an inspired piece of casting? Sidney Poitier.

Gee, that makes a lot of sense. Did I say looks don't matter at all? Hmm? No I did not. It's just the lesser of the two. Kathy Bates is white and Storm is black. It would never work, obviously. Berry did a fine job IMO and Banks would have been a huge gamble, and an unnecessary one too. It seems like you want someone who's the spittin' image of what they look like in the comics and that's unrealistic. If you can get 80-85% of the way there that's fine.

If Singer had given Bassett the crap (lines) he gave Berry, Bassett (being a talented actress) could've spun it into something far better than what we got, the same of which can't be said for Banks or the rest of her runway flukies.

See, you seem to think we're talking about Storm the way Halle played her. The way she was written, any black actress would do. Any woman who could fill out a black leather bodysuit & stand pretty while lightning flashed around her, & that's what we got. They went w/Halle b/c of how she looked in the costume & little else. Her strongest non-combat moments were pretty much when she was arguing w/Logan. She wasn't made a leader, she displayed none of the strength she has in the comics. As insignificant as they made the character, they probably could've gotten Tyra or any number of untalented bimbos & gotten away with it. The movies were about Wolverine, Magneto & Xavier-in that order. Storm was just a supporting character. Now had they treated the character w/the same amount of respect that they gave Hugh, Halle would have never been under consideration. To me, ideally, Nona Gaye would've been perfect. But that's just me.

you know whats really funny he stars in the Scifi Channel series "Eureka" which coincidentally has a "Tony Stark" type character

The character is the boss man of Eureka's laboratories and in the season finale a look into Stark's future showed he was in charge of Stark Industries, an obvious nod to Marvel's Tony Stark.
