I think it would be cool as hell to have Q as a woman. Its also true to real life, where up until recently the head of Q branch for MI6 was a woman.

The Insneider reports that while “Dune” and “Arrival” helmer Villeneuve came out on top, Berger (“All Quiet on the Western Front,” “Conclave”) was the runner-up.

A writer is now being sought who will co-write the script with Villeneuve based on his idea. That writer will be doing the lion’s share of the work while Villeneuve is working on “Dune: Messiah” for much of the next year.

Then, once it wraps, Villeneuve will join in the writing process which is when casting will also get underway. Thus, any Bond casting rumors you hear throughout the rest of this year is almost certainly speculation as there won’t be any serious movement on that front until next year.

Sneider adds people at the studio were “stunned” that Villeneuve got the gig, of the five he was considered the most unavailable and likely expensive option of them all.

So Villeneuve gets to cast Bond. I wonder if he'll be directing more than one movie, then.

I'm sure the casting will be a collaborative process like always. And it's possible he might do more but he does have a lot in his plate and this quote makes me think he doesn't have that in mind yet:
“Some of my earliest movie-going memories are connected to 007. I grew up watching James Bond films with my father, ever since ‘Dr. No’ with Sean Connery. I’m a die-hard Bond fan. To me, he’s sacred territory,” Villeneuve said. “I intend to honor the tradition and open the path for many new missions to come. This is a massive responsibility, but also, incredibly exciting for me and a huge honor. Amy, David, and I are absolutely thrilled to bring him back to the screen. Thank you to Amazon MGM Studios for their trust.”

I’m on another forum that suggested Emma Corrin as Q. They would be awesome.

Emma plus Olivia Colman as M. Or Idris

I sometimes get the impression that many people imagine Bond's tone to be either “light/silly”, with colorful characters and mad scientist plans on one side, or “grounded/gritty” and devoid of any fantasy on the other.

Personally, I think there's another route: in the same way that everyone imagined Nolan stripping the Joker of his key visual attributes before his TDK, you can have a “serious” approach (the term isn't the best bit that's what is used) while retaining a certain iconography.
As I said in a previous post, I can totally see Villeneuve going down this road : keeping the more serious tone of the recent films but reinstilling the pulp aspect of the old films. Especially since, as he mentioned, he grew up with them.

In any case, that's my wish. Have a Bond in the spirit of Timothy Dalton, a compelling investigation as in BR 2049, and characters visually as striking as a Feyd-Rautha.
I mean, just imagine a modern version of Jaws... something a bit like Barden's Anton Chigurh... wouldn't that be amazing?

Already seeing a likely fake rumor of Tom Holland being eyed for Bond.

That would immediately deflate all of my excitement for the project.

Tom Holland’s going to look 18 years old until he’s 60. That’s something that might suit Peter Parker, but James Bond? Nah.

Already primed for the internet meltdown when Holland is announced as Bond and Zendaya as Moneypenny.

Now that Amazon has tapped Denis Villeneuve as the franchise’s next director, the pace is about to accelerate significantly on the 26th outing of James Bond. Even still, Amazon is looking at a 2028 release date for Bond 26. Anything sooner would be impossible to pull off, given the film’s scale, sources say.

Insiders say that the studio and producers are interested in casting a British actor under the age of 30, with Jacob Elordi (“Saltburn”), Tom Holland(“Spider-Man”) and Harris Dickinson(“Babygirl”) at the top of the list. (Elordi is Australian, but that would not be a deal-breaker as far as Amazon is concerned; remember Aussie George Lazenby starred in “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service.”) While there has been speculation that Aaron Taylor-Johnsonor Henry Cavill would be possible heirs to Craig, they are 35 and 42, respectively, and thus unlikely to fit the mandate. So, too, is fan-favorite Idris Elba, 52, who has ducked Bond speculation for years. (No meetings have happened at this stage.

Nah. He's coming for a crash in terms of how old he looks soon. You can already see the signs. Still shouldn't be Bond.

I watched the first 4-5 episodes a while back and I remember liking the characters but the show was severely limited by its budget. It felt like every other scene took place on the same street corner.

I couldn't get invested in the time travel aspect either. And then Colin Salmon as Zod being an antihero. And then you had them fighting other Kryptonians who were coming out of nowhere. It felt nonsensical and convoluted. Also, Adam Strange being on Krypton and somehow survives.

Also, in general, I'm not really interested in prequel stories like this, Pennyworth, and Gotham. I'm not here to watch stories about Superman's grandparents or Batman's parents. I want my Batman or Superman show. Makes me glad that the Graysons series never got off the ground. We would've spent 100 episodes and five seasons waiting for the Graysons to die from a shady mobster when episodes earlier we see them beating Prototype Joker, Prototype Two-Face, Proto-Calendar Man. Also, we reveal that the Graysons saved the lives of the Wayne family and their young son Bruce making them circus folk heroes.
