Anyway, I've revoked another category. The next category was to be: "Most likely to leave in 2006/7". In short, whatever. The honor was going to go to kypade because I didn't believe TMOB was going anywhere, but alas, it's not a real honor so no one gets it, and besides, I don't care.
On the other hand, I've replaced it with a much more deserving category. Hype! Survivor is one of the biggest pillars of this site's community. Either you've played in one, been associated with one, or seen the thread. The players are often very talented... but few of the most talented win the coveted trophy at the end. With about 3 - 4 games a year, and anywhere between 16 - 20+ players playing in each game, (many being repeats from previous games) the category is limited to only a handful of people on the site, but all the same a deserving category nonetheless.
So instead of judging the game's best player by who won the game, it's now being judged by who has worked the hardest.
Best Hype! Survivor Player:
Many people to consider here, but the old favorites keep ringing over and over in my head. First of all, the recent winners: Kmack, jackcool, SonofLogan. Kmack rode the coat tails well, jackcool played it nonchalant and SOL was a monster... except he was played partly by Max.
Toven, another great player... but she made a bad decision that automatically kept her from winning a game. She plays off emotion, and therefore makes her weak.
Brodie -- another fine option, but he was more low-key this time around, and he's paranoid which prevents knowing when to play your ace. His early demise may've been my fault, but my hand was forced. He no eligable.
Many other people who play this game like geniuses. kypade was another honorable mention, but in the end the award goes to none other than:
for outstanding solid and unflinching play in just about every game he's been affiliated with in the past year. Congrats to Matthewson and his cohorts.
Next award: Most Likely to be Banned in 2006/7
