The 79th Annual Academy Awards

dunno. he was good in Dreamgirls, but to see the guy who's career stooped to Pluto Nash, Daddy's Day Care and Norbit winning an oscar would've been pretty depressing for me.

I hate to say it but Norbit could have really hurt Eddie. That may have been why he didnt get the award.

I'm crying right now.
I'm so f-ing happy.
:woot::woot:
Scorsese, after all these years, finally gets what he deserved.
And Jennifer Hudson winning best supporting actress for her first role is a MAJOR accomplishment for her. I hope I see her in more things.
I'm only mad about the cinematography award. Pan's Labyrinth has amazing camera work, but Children of Mens' is SO much superior to anything out there.

That was BULL****. That was the best movie of the year, how does it not even win Best Foreign Film? Anyways, biggest upset was either that, or Inconvenient Truth winning for Best Original Song.

No it wasn't. :huh:

Man, Hellen Mirren and Diane Keaton were looking kind of fine for old timers.

Has anyone seen the other foreign films that were nominated?

I'm so glad Eddie Murphy didn't win Best Supporting Actor, that'll teach him to make "Norbit".

And The Departed pwnz.

Had Eddie Murhpy won, this night would've been perfect. But still, The Departd taking Picture, Director, and Screenplay is both surprising and pleasing.

Anything Al Gore/Inconvenient Truth was upsetting to me.

do you guys think 300 might be upfor anoscar next year?

Maybe in the Visual/FX department. But I see Spider-Man 3, Ghost Rider(Maybe), POTC 3, and possibly Transformers providing some stiff competition if they're nominated.

300 might get a nod for visuals and costume design.
