"The action was great, but the plot sucked!, Movies with the Reverse

I don't understand the hate Ang Lee's Hulk gets, I much prefer it over the new one.

You do know this is one of The Hulk's main abilities dont you?

I didn't say it wasn't I just didn't like it on the big screen. Not every ability looks right on the big screen. The translation from comic to live adaption doesn't always work.

Unstable mutation+PG-13rating=disintegration.:bh:

:hehe:

Also, I prefer Ang Lee's because of the story's strength.

I love Ang's Hulk AND TIH - and I go easy on myself about picking a favourite. I simply don't. lol

Would you have preferred it if he caught a bus or hailed a cab?

:hehe:

I liked him running from the Helicopters, smarty. :oldrazz:

Betty Ross: [Betty and Bruce need to get across town in New York City] The subway is probably quickest.
Bruce Banner: Me in a metal tube, deep underground with hundreds of people in the most aggressive city in the world?
Betty Ross: Right. Let's get a cab.

you and me both brother. the new one ain't bad but it's not as cerebral as Ang's.

Yea don't get me wrong I liked the new one. But I dunno, I just didn't really care for the characters. For example in Ang's Hulk you could sense the conflict in Gen Ross, that he knows his daughter loves Hulk but he still has a duty. In the new one Gen Ross just didn't seem to give a crap that the guy he was chasing is the love of his daughters life.

i noticed that also...but then again their version of his becoming Hulk is quite different than Ang's anyway. in Ang's Hulk, Banner is zapped because he's trying to save someone. in the new one it seems like he's willingly being zapped.

Hmmm yea I suppose. But the characterization of Gen. Ross just didn't sit well with me.

there was quite a bit of that movie that didn't sit well with me...but then i remember that this guy directed Transporter 2 and it all of the sudden makes sense to me, hehe.

Seems that quite a few are answering backwards in this one. The original poster was asking for movies with great story but disappointing in the action department.

I'll have to agree with Ang Lee's Hulk tremendously. Great movie, but the comic panel nonsense, among other things, really ruined those scenes.

I prefer it to TIH as well, but TIH is pretty solid on it's own right. Lee's just better overall.

Totally agree with both of you, Ang's movie was much better IMO, much deeper and more emotional and it was much easier to invest in the characters in Ang's movie IMO. Plus the action in Ang's movie topped the majority of what we got in TIH.

I know, IMO they have to show it, its one of his main abilities! Not to mentioin leaving it out of the new didnt exactly help its performance did it?

Escape from New York. Great set up, but lacking in the action department.

Iron Man and TIH were both very well done and entertaining but the action was dissapointing.

Then we got "Escape From LA", which came up short in both departments.

Agreed, that is why I was fine with a remake, I felt there was more could be done with the concept.

Exactly. I'm completely opposed to a remake of The Thing but Escape From New York could benefit if a good action director took the helm.

In retrospect, I'm not surprised at the number of people who said Hulk & BB.

I liked the action in BB. I found it entertaining.

Hulk, not so much.

MI1 did come up slightly short on the action, I agree.
