I try not worry too much about budgets. Some films have huge budgets and are terrible. Others have tiny ones and are amazing. The story is always king
Anything can be terrible or amazing of course. Having a low budget is just a restriction and lack of creative freedom that can be removed (by having a higher budget). The director could make an amazing or terrible movie if he kept one eye closed during the editing process but it would be a restriction that may or may not have an impact on the production. Not having to keep that eye closed would mean no impact. And if story is king then you can hire a better writer if you have a higher budget.

That will no doubt end up being better than all of the official posters for this film.

Remember how Wonder Woman referenced the original superman movie? Which callbacks would you like to see Aquaman do?

I think it would be cool to see a scene similar to the scene in batman begins when Bruce is surrounded by bats except with arthur surrounded by stingrays and fish as he learns to control his powers

You know... Thinking on that I don't care if others thought it was cheesy, that could be a beautiful visual.

It really could be. That's something this film has a real advantage going for it...the completely unique setting. The ocean is a truly gorgeous place, and with so little of it having been explored, they have an opportunity to pull off some truly original things. Think about all the freedom Dr. Strange had with making the other realms look like something incredibly creative and all their own. That's the exact opportunity they have here. I hope they take full advantage of it.

Yeah remember the scene from finding dory when all the Rays migrate away? Something as beautiful as that

While I've enjoyed most of wan's movies
I gotta say.....the visuals aren't anything that really stands out.

Which is slightly concerning, since this movie has potential for some absolutely beautiful visuals.
I'm really excited to see how he handles the scarier parts of aquamans world.
Like the trench for example.
But I'm hoping he doesn't go too heavy with the horror influences on everything.:funny:
I want there to be a contrast.
There's definitely some scary **** in the ocean, but there's a lot of beauty too.
This movie has a pretty unique world to explore.
Hope it isn't wasted.

I can't remember if Jenkins had a particularly interesting visual before Wonder Woman but that worked out. Usually they get a cinematographer in to help with that sort of thing. I'm sure we will get some stunning vistas. Just looking at where they are filming it looks stunning

or have him sneak up on someone in the middle of a school of fish. all of a sudden the fish pull back like a curtain and reveal him in the middle. sonar thought it was a school of fish but it was more than that. surprise!

And I hope they have time to at least give Storm a mention. Not a big role but acknowledge him at least. But if I had my wish he'd be featured in at least one scene. Change the image of him being a delicate ,fragile seahorse. No these giant seahorses are fast, strong and armored. I think he could be worked in for some comic relief too.

I think with his F&F film Wan has shown he can do interesting visual spectacle. Call it ridiculous or over the top, I think it's fair to say with the below sequence Wan shows he can make things look really great. A lot of the visual flair in an Aquaman movie is going to require lots of CGI/VFX. I believe Wan has that ability.

The Conjuring 2 also has a lot of 'flashy' stuff in there. Wan can definitely deliver a very cool looking movie

Maybe it's jut me but... I hope the color grading of the film tones that down. That shade is just a smidge away from the piss poor Medusa wig from Inhumans. There's red hair and then there's a color not found in the natural world. It's too close to the latter.

Ha, I was worried about that but it's not that bad!

I think they look like they're having fun! Gee James is tiny though!

I sort of think the world of Aquaman isn't the natural world. Also red is the color water blocks first so maybe they need a strong red so it looks red on film for the underwater scenes.

That's actually a good reason to do that then. As for the first part... This needs to fit into the overall look of the DCEU.

On the other hand we have seen a snippet of Mera underwater already.
