The All New State Your Opinion on a DC Character Thread

You NEED to read Morrison's Doom Patrol then.

Also, they're effin' awesome.

And I think I'd go with Christopher Walken.

This post is full of truthful things

Morrison's Doom Patrol was an amazing series and I loved the Brotherhood of Dada in it :)

I don't much care for Zod cuz he's been s**t in everything I seen him in except the movie, and that is tainted by cellophane S throwing Superman. :o

That mildly inconvenienced Zod though 'Nubsy

It was an idea worthy of Sun Tzu's The Art of War

Or even Zapp Brannigan's Big Book of War

ZOD Started the traditional supervillian/superhero ludicrous scream with the classic "Kneel to ZOD"

Next were:

BB: "Swear to me"
SR:" Wrong"
GR: "We are legion cause we are maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaany"
IM: "Tony Stark build it on a cave, with a box of scrap"
TDK: "Look at me"
An finally, Loky gives us "kneel"

Marvelous ham.

Don't forget Justin Hammer screaming about stealing Whiplash's shoes :awesome:

Which always makes me think of Venture Brothers

and that is tainted by cellophane S throwing Superman. :o
awwwww come on duke of the departed. yeah i will give you that scene was utter bull*%*&^ but come on! when they were on krypton and dude was " YOU WILL BOW DOWN BEFORE ME JOR-EL! I SWEAR IT! NO MATTER IT TAKES AN ETERNITY !YOU WILL BOW DOWN BEFORE ME! BOTH YOU AND THEN ONE DAY YOUR HEIRS!!
like Wesley said. that *&^% makes ZOD the man!

hahahahahaha  that's funny! wrong but funny! hahaha

next

The ventriloquist

That's no dummy that's my ex-wife!! Thank you lady and germs!

Wesker-Ventriloquist was cool. One of those villains that some people mistake for whacky and camp but, when you actually think about it, is actually creepy as hell.
I'm convinced there's a classic Ventriloquist story just waiting to be written by someone who properly gets that.

The new ventriloquist? not so much. She comes from that all-too prevalent "if we give this character **** it'll make it more interesting" mode of juvenile comicbook writing... (See also: Lady Octopus, X-23, She-venom, etc.)

I :hrt: Wesker and Scarface and i always dug the suggestion that Scarface is really posessed and not just a seperate personality of Wesker's

Spooky dolls ftw

I didn't even know he'd been replaced. Damn I'm behind...

Well, has the new one even shown up in the new 52? Maybe it didn't happen in the new timeline.

Yep Wesker is alive again in the new dcu :)

He showed up in the dark knight briefly

And Socko got a cameo in Batman during the Arkham riot

So there I was... All set to say "Oh, cool! Well, at least that's one good thing the new 52's done!" UNTIL I google imaged 'Arnold Wesker new 52'...

I shall say it again:

****. The new 52.

This was just while he was pumped full of venom though

He should be more like his old self next time he shows up :)

Being that as it may though, this was his introduction. It's important they begin as they mean to go on with these characters and so far? Yeah, I'm not impressed. At all.
Which pains me to say because I'm a DC kid. :(

(Also, I hate the very idea of Venom and all things venom and Bane-related... With the exception of Secret Six, where he was unexpectedly awesome)

The New 52 has a lot of us feeling that way. We'll all be Kurosawas someday.

Venom, as it originally shown, wasn't a Hulk serum. It might've put its user into a constant state of flexing what muscles they had (see when Batman, Bird, Azrael, or Bane used it in the 90's), but they didn't really get noticeably bigger than they already were. The Hulk-out effect is a recent phenomenon that exists solely because Bane's appearance in games and cartoons has convinced people that that's how the drug works. In essence, f**k the New 52 for bringing that in.

Still, back to Wesker. I really liked him in Broken City. I thought that story added a new layer to the character(s) that was needed, but was pretty much immediately forgotten after the arc's conclusion.

Wow! that sucks big time!!

oh and this. i love chicks but it was way cooler as a wesker and i agree that dude is hella creepy!
next to joker the V is my favorite gotham loon!!.. i could totally see some crazy dudes now( hell! it's "bath salts zombies" for Jimmy crickets sakes) in real life working for a puppet to get their kicks!

I always loved the way Alan Grant wrote both Wesker and the Ventriloquist. He did some of the best stories with those two

'Read my lips' was a great episode of the cartoon as well. Though it scared me so much when I was a kid because I had a horrible fear of ventriloquist dummies

My parents let me watch 'Magic' when I was about seven years old. I had nightmares for weeks :(

At this point reading Marvel & DC is really starting to feel like watching the later seasons of a long running sitcom, or the modern Simpsons. It feels like you have to sit through a bunch of missed jokes before you finally get to a funny one. :(

There be some really good stuff from Marvel and DC too though :)
