in the 60's if you were for the Vietnam war you were a "Hawk" and if you protested against it you were a "Dove." Which was the original concept for these 2. you got the hot headed one and then the level one.if stupid DC was to ever include those extreme political ideologies in their book(and get rid of Rob Liefield,that dude seems to have a jones for wanting to draw these 2) it would be a great book and i would buy it, instead you always end up getting your standard superhero fare and them being being lame!

Never spent a lot of time with either set of Hawks and Doves, but found the original two brothers to be pretty lame when they guest starred on an episode of JLU a few years back (despite having the brothers from the Wonder Years voice them). Dawn/Dove 2 was kinda cool in Blackest Night.

Yeah, I've also only met Hawk/Dove as temporary guest stars in some storys. I wasn't impressed at those occasions, but maybe there are better storys with these flying heroes.

I actually didn't know there were several incarnations of them (how stupid of me, considering all the variations, incarnations, multiple earths etc. the last 40 years..).

makes that dude as COOL as a penguin in a snowstorm with a fan eating a fudge sickle! I would so be that guy if the superpowered fairy ask me who i wanted to be.Threw up on Batman! come on! thats great!!

Kalibak... Aint he Darkseaid's kid? I think I remember him giving Kyle Raynor some back at the beginning of his Green Lantern stint.

Hawk And Dove. Never dug 'em. They're just... well, a bit crap, really.

Hitman is one of my favourite Ennis books. Exciting, well-characterised, hilarious and, like Mysti said, achingly sad in places.
Oh! It also has one of the greatest Superman stories ever written.
(And Garth 'I hate superheroes' Ennis wrote it!)

I'm not a big fan of Maxima personally. She's hawt but she's also a narrow minded dbag who seems worryingly obsessed with taffying anything in spandex she can get her super strong hands on
