Sexy. I really didn't want to have to drop him.

Hey Nimbiro, you mind editing Gregory Bestman out of your Doc Ock stuff? For one, he's a Vulture character, not an Octavius one. And secondly, I'd just introduced him in my last Spider-Man post as a faculty member at ESU (bit of a typo, I accidentally wrote him as 'John' Bestman there and didn't realize it) and that ties into the arc I'm doing.

sure, i'll write him out and replace him with, IDK as of now, i'm truly sorry, i just needed the steriotype fartsy *sshole, and bestman was pretty suited for it... 2 more posts to doc ock (one is his transformation, and the other is the one i first apped with, with bone marrow and everything)! then, after a time, sinister 6 and master planner (which was why i applied for beck, but i know i'm still not apped as him... nevermind about that). but can you try not to use mysterio? pleaaaaaaaase?

and if your'e making toomes vulture, notify me so i (maybe you too) can use him for the 6...

you could always make up a boss for Octavius, i mean, its not ading much to the story other then name dropping right?

well, i found the PERFECT boss for Otto: Seward Trainer. he was in the clone saga, and he's carolyn trainer's father, so it can be a foreshadow...

Re-applying due to unacceptable lateness. Apologies for not getting a post up yet, I've been sort of rummaging through my characters and seeing which ones I want to drop and want to keep. This one qualifies as one of the very few I'm putting in the latter category - I will start posting with him very soon. Promise.

Character you would like to play: The Mighty Thor

Powers: Superhuman strength, speed, durability, and the immortality. While wielding the mystical hammer Mjolnir, Thor is granted the ability of flight, weather manipulation, multidimensional travel, and the capability of absorbing and controlling energy.

Basic history of the character (Up until this point): Of the Nine Worlds, there were Nine Lords, the most powerful of whom, was the Ruler of Asgard. These Nine Realms battled endlessly, some forming alliances, some merely continuing endless feuds. Odin was the Lord of Asgard, and had a son named Thor, was Gaea, Goddess of all things to do with the Earth, making a son who had the same strength to fight in Asgard and Midgard. But Thor had a brother, named Loki, who had many followers within the community of the Nine Worlds. On the day of the death of their father, Loki and Thor argued over who should take the place as Lord of Asgard. The Asgardians were assembled to choose the new ruler, but Loki manipulated his followers to get him to the throne of Asgard. Thor was furious at this, broke into the court of Loki, and lashed out in rage. Loki sent the Asgardians to hunt down Thor, and bring his body back. Thor fled, stealing the sacred Mjolnir from its place at Asgard and fled to Midgard. He knew that he should have been the rightful ruler of Asgard, and believed that Mjolnir would work for him. He also knows that he is a wanted man in Asgard and the Nine Worlds, and will one day return to them to take his rightful place. But for now, he trains to take on an army of unbelievable, on the realm of Midgard, also known as Earth to the inhabitants.

Why Have You Chosen That Character?: I'll be honest. A couple of years back, Thor didn't even register with me as a character I'd be interested in playing. But my exposure to him through The Ultimates portrayed him in an intriguing light. And once the boards' own Keyser Soze introduced me to J. Michael Strazynsci's run with the character, I was hooked, and I've been looking for an opportunity to play him ever since. Plus, the nature of the RPG's 'year one' approach seems the ideal outlet to make that leap into a character that I'm still a relative newbie to.

What Do You Plan On Doing With This Character (IE: How are you changing him or her?): As RR established, Thor cannot enter Asgard without being slain by his fellow warriors. That'll create a serious amount of storytelling potential for when he's forced to seek out Loki once more for a crime against the throne of Odin, so I'll be taking advantage of his further conflictions against leaving his new Avenger allies to go to battle. Beyond that, my plans are relatively short-formed, still, but there're a few twists I have in store for this universe's Asgard and the Asgardians.

Two Complete Sentences Explaining What You Can Bring To This RPG (As A Player): I've gotten alot of compliments on my writing of street level heroes, but this is a different venture for me entirely, so I hope I can bring something more exciting to the way I approach writing this character. I'll also be bringing in an outsider's perspective to that world of mysticism and magic, aswell as the vast amount of Norse mythology that I'll be interpreting in my own way. (Hopefully not to the extent of blasphemy.)

Please provide a small sample post in the format you wish to portray your character in (Minimum three paragraphs/one line of dialogue, maximum six paragraphs):

"Father, I grieve what I have allowed to happen to your throne."

In Norway, there is a temple dedicated to all that he knows. The legend of Asgard has grown in such ways that surprise even it's noble son, as he had been admiring the massive stone statues of his former brethren - warriors such as Hogun The Grim and Heimdall, gatekeeper to Odin's kingdom. But it was upon approaching the visage of his late father himself that Thor Odinson found himself with remorse, overwhelmed by his failure to sanctify his king's law.

His head hung in shame, Thor could not look the statue in the face. He simply apologized to his father's spirit in darkness, allowing himself a moment of solace. "Tis' true that the treachery ultimately lies blame with my deceitful brother, but I feel as if the Gods had gifted me with enough power to prevent what has happened. But I fear that in the face of your death, I was not strong enough."

The God of Thunder stared out at the recreations of Odin's people, for a moment feeling as if he were home again. This place, this temple of the Norse Gods, it was the closest to a true homecoming that Thor could ever experience in such a travesty of times.

"These great and humble warriors, they have been victim to Loki's darkest magic. It is only because of my greatest respect for them and to your legacy that I do not make haste into the coming battle - the prophecy thou had taught me from birth. But know, father, that it is with every breath I take that I wish nothing more but to slay the demon and cast him into the realm of H'el itself where he belongs!"

The thunder itself began to grow with Thor's anger at the thought, as his fists clenched tightly over the hammer at his side. But as he sighed, the storms seemed to subside aswell, as he looked back, and over his shoulder at the depiction of his majestic father.

"My apologies. I realize also that he is still your son, as he is still my brother aswell. It is still sometimes hard to believe there was a time when we dreamed of the eons we would spend defending your kingdom together. Deep within thy heart, I know there is still apart of him that shall be redeemed, and hopefully journey onward to Valhalla. I just wish it had not come to this first. Your kingdom, and our people deserve more."

Taking his glistening warrior's helmet and placing it on his head, Thor looked up at the statue a final time, knowing that he had but minutes to spare in the troubling times ahead. Ragnorok was fast approaching, and though he did not know when it would come to pass, it was inevitable that Thor be there for it's destruction.

"I know that it is a simple gesture unbecoming of a God, but I wish to continue to speak with you another time, Father. For when here, I feel as if your prescence still lurks from the reach of time and space. I bid you goodbye for now, and in the name of our home,"

Taking a leap into the sky, Mjolnir did the rest of the work as Asgard's son flew into the heavens above the citizens of Midgard, and cast a hopeful nod down towards them. "For Asgard."

I think I still have power of approval. If I do, then you are....

yes.gif

APPROVED!

I'll second that, just to make it good and official. But you effing well better post this time!

*deep breath*

Almost done with this lengthy Punisher origin I crafted for myself. I can't wait to start posting in the present day. :oldrazz:

Andy, does your last post mean the Avengers should be ready for Fury's call in the near future? If so, I'll throw up one more post until I'm ready.

yeah, same question, and Banner's a little preoccupied at the moment lol

Who the hell even said Hulk was gonna be on the team? :cmad:

I figure the fact that he tore up half of Manhattan fighting Cap, IM, and Thor was good indicator he's not the best teammate.

Andy, does your last post mean the Avengers should be ready for Fury's call in the near future? If so, I'll throw up one more post until I'm ready.

I was gonna spend a couple more posts gathering other potential Avengers (Hawkeye, Miss Marvel, etc) before putting the big guns together, so you've got time to do what you wanna do.

Also, I've decided that should I ever do some flashbacks involving Uncle Ben, this is going to be my basis for him:

I'll get my Doctor Strange arc chugging along soon.

Ok guys, heres my ne wthird character

The All-Star Marvel RPG
Character Application

Character you would like to play: Mac Gargan/Scorpion

Powers: None Mac Gargan retains physical fitness through rigorus working out and has amazing upper body strength. As Scorpion Gargan can walk, has super strength(15 tons), speed, endurance, reflexes exceeding Spider-Man’s, and a prehensile tail with a retractable “stinger” blade. The armor the suit is made from is also completely bullet proof and incredibly flexible, its also green. He is also has a wireless hook up to the “Spider Slayer” drones.

Basic history of the character (Up until this point): McDonald Gargan was born August 23, 1983 in New York City. Growing up one thing he always wanted to be was a superhero. Captain America died before he was born but his dad would tell him about the Star Spangled Avenger and it wowed the young Mac Gargan. He would play war with the other kids and he would always pretend to be Captain America! But seeing as how the Captain was murdered and the growing prejudice against mutants, he opted to serve the people as one of the boys in blue.

Graduating from the academy top of his class after highschool McDonald Gargan became one of the best officers on the force. Serving 10 years on the force before tragedy struck.

One night while in pursuit of a murder suspect, Mac had to swerve to avoid another car. But the swerve sent him headlong into an oncoming semi truck. His partner killed, but by some kind of miracle Gargan survived the crash, but was paralized from the waist down. Now Wheelchair bound Gargan does his duty to the people from behind a desk but still dreams of helping out there on the streets of New York.

Why Have You Chosen That Character?: Well, Mac gargan has always been one of my favorite Spidey villains, behind Venom and the Goblin of course, and Andy needs a godsend to his crappy writing, just kidding :p

What Do You Plan On Doing With This Character (IE: How are you changing him or her?): Mac Gargan will not be a private investigator or a criminal, or a clone of Pete for that matter. He also is gonna start out different then other versions.

Two Complete Sentences Explaining What You Can Bring To This RPG (As A Player): Dedication to my character and the game itself. And a killer nachos recipe.

Please provide a small sample post in the format you wish to portray your character in (Minimum three paragraphs/one line of dialogue, maximum six paragraphs):
Mac rolled through the hall and breaked at his desk.

“Hey Mark, anything new on that homocide?” He said to hos co-worker.

“Nothin new to me Mac.” He said sitting at his own desk. They both did the same things, booting up their computers, opening drawers and going over the files.

“STOP! NOW!” Mac yelled as he ran after the suspect. Hopping the fence Mac rolled as he caught on the fence and fell to the floor. Mitchells pulling up door opened.

“Get in Mac, we can get him!” Mac dove in the car as it started speeding after the suspect now heading towards the bridge. Mac watched as Benson waved his gun at someone in a car who practically fell out of it as they ran from their now speeding car.
Mounting the curb as they chased down the fleeing vehicle Mac drew his sidearm and fired.

He saw the sparks as they ricoched off the bumper and side mirror. They whizzed past the other cars. Swithcing lanes suddenly something came through the windshieldand hit Mitchellsin the shoulder, he instinctivly grabbed it to stop the bleeding.

I've talked with Sabe about what's already been established for Gargan, so as long as Q is down with having a PC'ed Scorpion, I'm gonna say it's approved.

Okay, I've been toying around with different options for a third character, and after much very careful consideration and agonizing between one potential choice or another, I've made my decision.

God help us all.

Character you would like to play:
Captain Scott Summers, codename "Cyclops"

Powers: Scott Summers can project powerful beams of concussive energy from his eyes (and unlike his 616 counterpart, he can actually control the beams, meaning he does not need his sunglasses). On top of his mutant ability, Captain Summers has extensive military training, particularly proficient in hand-to-hand combat and in commanding squad tactics.

Basic history of the character (Up until this point):
(copied from Johnny Blaze's original app)

Scott Summers grew up in a small town Northern Maine, living the life as any normal boy would. But then, a day after his fourteenth birthday, his power manifested and his simple, normal life was no more. The nightmares Scott had were so real, he woke up startled...and blew half the house to pieces with an optic blast. Unfortunately for Scott, both his parents were died in the incident.

Scott was still sitting in bed in a state of shock, his eyes forcefully closed, when the police came. He was arrested, but Scott didn't remain long in their care. Before the day was over, Scott was being given to a group of federal agents, and he was on his way to New York. Scott Summers found himself arriving at a large school ground set deep in the secluded countryside of Westchester. There he was introduced to Colonel David Charles Haller, the headmaster of the school.
Haller told Scott the school's purpose of training mutants to use and control their powers so they won't be a danger to society. And that the top students get to go on after graduation and serve in the X-Men, the United States military's mutant task force, helping defend their country and family against all that would threaten her.

Scott dived into the work and education, quickly showing himself to be one of those top students. Over the years he spent as a student, Scott received numerous commendations and accolades, becoming one the Xavier Institute's top graduating students in it's history. It was an honor and a privileged for him to be given a spot on the X-Men. So, Scott once again dedicated himself to his team and mission, eventually working his way up to field leader of the squad.

Scott, now twenty seven years old, has been leading the X-Men on missions for four years now and has slowly helped improve the X-Men's public image. Currently Scott is involved with his fellow teammate, first sergeant Jean Grey.

In the wake of a prolonged and destructive battle following the Brotherhood's attack on the White House, First Sergeant Jean Grey has been captured by Magneto and his thugs, much to Scott's dismay. However, due to being emotionally compromised via a personal conflict of interest, Summers has been pulled from the X-Men's attempts to recover her. Forced to sit on the sidelines or go on routine mutant-hunts during one failed search attempt after another, Scott is growing increasingly desperate for a chance to take on the Brotherhood and rescue Jean himself.

Why Have You Chosen That Character?: Cyclops is one of those characters, like so many other straight-laced team-leader guys, who never gets any love. Everyone creams their pants over Wolverine and Gambit and all the other "loose cannon" types, but I think there's a more interesting kind of strength to the guys who have to hold a team like that together, even in the worst of times. That, and the X-Men universe has so much ground for great storytelling, and it's being criminally under-used right now.

What Do You Plan On Doing With This Character (IE: How are you changing him or her?): He's going to start fairly the same way that JB wrote him, a dedicated career military man who's loyal to the force, no matter what. However, he's already going to be experiencing some conflicts in that loyalty, having to choose between following his orders or trying to save the woman he loves. And those loyalties are going to be stretched even further when he uncovers a few secrets in Westchester that I think are going to shake up the All-Star X-Franchise quite a bit.

Two Complete Sentences Explaining What You Can Bring To This RPG (As A Player): A love for pure-heroic-types like Summers, as well as an almost-obsessive need to weave big, multi-character arcs that would suit the X-Men just fine. Plus, y'all know me and how I loves my All-Star Marvel; I would sooner light myself on fire than let this game go to waste.

Please provide a small sample post in the format you wish to portray your character in (Minimum three paragraphs/one line of dialogue, maximum six paragraphs):

"In position now," I say as I lay low along the treeline, the encampment about a hundred yards ahead of me. It's a relatively small camp, maybe seven tents, twenty or thirty targets altogether. They're a group called 'Freedom Force,' another anti-registration insurgent group hiding in the Adirondack mountains. While they're nowhere near the same threat as the Brotherhood, intel has shown us that they're plotting a series of attacks on some of the local towns, where anti-mutant sentiment is particularly strong. Even if the townspeople are a little ignorant, it's still my responsibility to protect them.

After all, I have to be able to protect someone....

Against my will and my better judgment, I start thinking about Jean. Those eyes, that shockingly red hair, the way she kissed......and what she must be going through now. What Magneto and his henchmen could be doing to her.....and how I can't do anything to stop it.

"Sir? You with us?" I hear the husky voice of Colossus over the radio. "Waiting on your command, sir."

I shake my head for a second to clear my thoughts, then single out a sentry along the edge of the camp. I can drop him in one shot, but it'll be loud and bright and give away my position. We'll have to act fast.

"Let's move," I say, and I light up the night with an intense blast of scarlet.
