Character you would like to play: Thor - God of Thunder

Powers:
Super strength, durability, stamina and agility. Can simulate flight by throwing and holding onto the ancient mystical hammer, Mjolnir. Immortality.

Basic history of the character (Up until this point):

Of the Nine Worlds, there were Nine Lords, the most powerful of whom, was the Ruler of Asgard. These Nine Realms battled endlessly, some forming alliances, some merely continuing endless feuds. Odin was the Lord of Asgard, and had a son named Thor, was Gaea, Goddess of all things to do with the Earth, making a son who had the same strength to fight in Asgard and Midgard. But Thor had a brother, named Loki, who had many followers within the community of the Nine Worlds.

On the day of the death of their father, Loki and Thor argued over who should take the place as Lord of Asgard. The Asgardians were assembled to choose the new ruler, but Loki manipulated his followers to get him to the throne of Asgard. Thor was furious at this, and broke into the court of Loki, and lashed out in rage. Loki sent the Asgardians to hunt down Thor, and bring his body back. Thor fled, stealing the sacred Mjolnir from its place at Asgard and fled to Midgard. He knew that he should have been the rightful ruler of Asgard, and believed that Mjolnir would work for him. He knows that he is a wanted man in Asgard and the Nine Worlds, and will one day return to them to take his rightful place. But for now, he trains to take on an army of unbelievable, on the realm of Midgard, also known as Earth, to the inhabitants.

Why Have You Chosen That Character?:
Thor is a character I've only recently been exposed to in the past twelve months. However, I've always been a fan of Gods & Fantasy and Mythology and Thor is a perfect blend of those things.

What Do You Plan On Doing With This Character (IE: How are you changing him or her?):
I'll be honest, right now my plans are very brief. I want to play it by ear and have fun with the character rather than plotting out a whole intricate year-long arc.

Two Complete Sentences Explaining What You Can Bring To This RPG (As A Player):
Many say that my portrayal of Ares in the 616 RPG is one of my strongest characters so I'm tackling Thor with both knowledge and experience of playing God characters and dealing with their backgrounds. I can also bring cake and invites to a sexy party.

Please provide a small sample post in the format you wish to portray your character in (Minimum three paragraphs/one line of dialogue, maximum six paragraphs):

He stood atop the building, knuckles clenched white against the hilt of the ancient hammer. Above and around him, thunder boomed and lightning flashed, reflecting his dark mood.

He could feel the storm brewing, the distant heavy footfalls as the army marched towards the city. He had fled to Midgard long ago, an exile and fugitive from the evil that had encapsulated his beloved Asgard. He had made a home here, found friends and aye, even family. He had taken this city, the one the mortals call 'New York' and had made it his ward. He was their protector and he would defend it as he would his true home.

The storm came on. The rumbling roar of trolls slicing through the snarl of his own thunder. The flash of green light at the head of the advancing forces. Thor looked upon the distant dark mass with disdain and a touch of regret.

Behind him, a puff of green smoke flashed behind him and the ephemeral form of his brother, Loki appeared upon his chosen balustrade.

"Beautiful isn't it?" whispered the ghostly form, his voice light and lilting.

"Nay brother. It is the foul. It is a perversion of all father Odin stood for".

"You cannot stop us. Surrender yourself, or do as you have in the past and flee once more. These pathetic creatures are not worthy of your sacrifice".

Thor turned and regarded the image of his half brother. "They are worth much more than that, Loki. They are worth more than you know".

"And you will willingly die for them?"

Thor stood silent for a moment before turning back to his position, a silent sentinel, standing in defiance of the oncoming storm. "You may have won Asgard, but your evil shall not conquer this realm. I will stop you, Brother".

"Ever the fool, Thor. Die well".

Electricity crackled in the air as the form of Loki disappeared. Thor sighed deeply as the first drops of rain fell from the dark sky overhead, spattering his bearded face.

His fist clenched Mjolnir tighter.

The Storm was upon him.

Thumbs up to OP's app.I love his Ares and have been curious to see what he'd do with Thor if given the chance.

I just didn't want to have to give Thor up in the main Marvel RPG to see it.

Dude, I don't think there's anyone on this board who could match your take on Thor. Hell, your interpretation is above most Marvel writers in it's quality!

Watchman used her in a couple of his Red Skull posts, too. But in terms of actual characterization and backstory, there really hasn't been anything established.
