That's uh... what i meant, funny. :ninja:

What you got in mind?

Well, nothing in particular, it's just that I saw this line of thinking many times and I could never really understand it. Pretty much any director and a number of script writers can make a more lighthearted tone and add some jokes. Unless you intend to make "The Flash" entirely a comedy, there's just no reason to go for a comedy director with a blockbuster film.

Oh, man, this is great. :funny:

It was only a matter of time. James Wan could be next. I don't blame Smith for not wanting to be associated with an exploding situation. WB built the train before the tracks and the train didn't have a successful launch.

And now with the turmoil behind the scenes with Snyder and WB are clashing over JL. Probably WB wants to make it more "fun" (however they understand that) and Snyder sticking with his continued vision. JL is going to be an even bigger disaster.

Oh, man, they're already losing control. I just can't wait to watch this all fail. Like you guys said, they're already in too deep to halt JL. They talked such a big game and their central problem was that they had a weak product to launch and didn't even have the insight of the mistakes they were making. I mean WB, Johnns and Snyder were actually taken aback by the response. It just shows how much of a miscalculation this all was and within their own bubble.

Eh it's not a fun situation to me because I was rooting on the universe to succeed.

@Doctor Jones
Word of advise... don't believe everything Faraci says. Actually, that should rather be "anything".

Anyway, posting this:

http://www.thewrap.com/the-flash-movie-loses-director-seth-grahame-smith-over-creative-differences/

Grahame-Smith was poised to make his feature directorial debut with the superhero film, which will star Ezra Miller as speedster Barry Allen. Warner Bros. is said to be pleased with Grahame-Smith’s script, but ultimately wanted a more experienced filmmaker guiding the production.

Warner Bros. isn’t eager to take a big risk in the wake of fan backlash to Zack Snyder‘s “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.” Many comic book fans have called for Snyder to be replaced on WB’s two “Justice League” movies, but with production already under way, that isn’t happening.

If that's the reason, I'd say that definitely something good came out of the BvS situation. Wanted to see Grahame-Smith gone since he was announced.

They made the right call. Now is not the time for risky unconventional directors for DCEU movies.

Ofcourse they made the right call. After Snyder basically destroyed DCEU , WB basically doesnt have a choice than go different route. This is too important project in this moment to gamble and go with inexperienced director. They can't make mistake. Also i was never fan of Seth Grahame-Smith as Flash director in first place. This property deserve justice.

I said it in anther thread. It's not like first time directors can't make critically well received movies, everyone starts somewhere you know. But usually first time directors who make tons of money on their first movie don't happen often.

Earlier this year Tim Millers first ever movie, Deadpool grossed over 700 million at the boxoffice. Who knows if Smith could have been capable of doing that. From what I hear his original books where good, but studio interference is to blame for their translations. But let's keep in mind Fox didn't give Deadpool a 150-170 million dollar budget the Flash will most likely get. They where cautious with a first time director like they should be.

Anyone rooting for this to fail going forward is a *****e, as far as I'm concerned.

I'm just glad it was early enough so the movie won't be pushed back. No idea who I'd like to direct. Vaughn would be dope.

Sounds like the DCEU is in trouble. I'm not surprised since BvS was never going to work and Justice League is making the same mistake of introducing too many characters at once. I'm not surprised that directors are jumping ship since it sounds like a failed franchise. If Suicide Squad and Wonder Woman flop as hard as I fear that they will, it'll be time to scuttle the ship.

BVS did'nt fail because of too many characters tho

BVS was also not "never going to work".

then they should've done a better job of getting a great director in the first place

not sure what changes a second time around

Everyone thought the Russo Brothers were also a risky choice. Not saying SGG was the right choice but let's not pretend that an experienced director is an automatic win.

I say they take a risk like they did with Nolan. Get Spike Jonze to do it.

WB aren't Marvel and the Russo's had directed a film previously. Just because the Russo risk paid off with Marvel doesn't mean that SGG would have paid off for WB.

Thanks for the completely useless troll post.

Vaughn has Kingsman 2. How do people expect him to do this? Also, why would they expect him to hurt his relationship with Fox or potentially Disney, who has taken pitches from him?

If WB is going to continue to act fools, they deserve to fail. They are the geniuses that hired Snyder to be the leader of this universe. They are the ones allowing their icons to continually get beat up by their "creative" decisions. The only good thing they have done on the Superhero front in 25 years is hire Nolan.

Then why did they hire him SPIDEY? I don't think it is random that they lost Miller and Lord. And it isn't simply because Disney and Star Wars came calling.
