I don't think the Sinister Six will be in the next movie since the S6 film is probably coming out 1 year after TASM3. There will more than likely be additional setting up for the Sinister Six though.

Adam West actually saved Batman in mainstream relevance ...

I'm weary about Spider-Man right now, because it looks like Superman hasn't really recovered. Superman II was his last unanimously good film ... Which was 34 years ago.

Adam West made Batman a punchline for decades. A popukar punchline but a punchline none the less. Most people didn't realize Batman was a badass till Tim Burton came along with B89.

and Superman hasn't recovered because he hasn't had his TDK that redeems him completely. But it's still possible.

I also don't see why GA would be interested in a couple of spinoff movies with villains as the "stars" and no Spidey himself. Seems like a recipe for disaster.

I agree.

Spider-man is who excites people.

Kids aren't going to beg to watch Green Goblin and Vulture without Spider-man.

Once again, how do we know that Spider-Man won't be in the Sinister Six film?

I would assume since its a spin off of the Spiderman film, Spidey wouldn't be in it. Other wise it would be a Spiderman film. Maybe you get a cameo. But its not supposed to be about Spiderman.

Was it ever referred to as a "spin-off" by sony? I thought the Venom movie was the spin-off?

They learned nothing from TASM. Hence why TASM2 takes everything that was bad last time, and amplified it. I have no doubt the next one will be a giant dose of mediocrity as well. Webb's not a great CBM director. Plain and simple.
I don't think that Webb deserves the blame for this one. It's pretty clear that the studio was meddling in throughout the movie. There were scenes where Webb was allowed to shine and they were really good. But then with Sony wanting to build an entire Spidey-universe just kinda drags **** down.

I'm not ready to throw Marc Webb under the bus just yet but I readily concede he's better at depicting the good guys than he is co-creating the villains.

His take on Spider-man villains seem like hack jobs in almost every instance.

Raimi may have botched the Green Goblins and Venom in certain ways but people love his Dr. Ock and Sandman so much he earns a free pass.

Webb needs a home run villain. Too many strike outs is why he can't winover enough detractors.
Willem Dafoe's Goblin was perfect :o

I don't necessarily believe in praising the director for what worked, and blaming the studio for what didn't. At the end of the day, he made the calls on what to do with Electro and Harry. The studio can demand you use them, but he was responsible for helping to create a story in which they'd succeed. He failed in this regard. I will agree, many scenes in the movie do shine. Most of Aunt May's material and much or the Gwen/Peter stuff works really well (though I do feel it devolved to a cliche will they/won't they this time to an extent).

Which is why Sony should've slowly built up to the Sinister 6 in ASM4.

Everybody wants to make Avengers money without cultivating these worlds. It took five movies to build towards Avengers. Not one or two.

At the time though Batman wasn't much of a badass, so you can't really blame the show.

Thats the problem with Sony, Fox and especially WB. They are looking at the big picture universes instead of focusing on individual projects. Planting the seeds for the next three films with the current one. Bad approach will doom these copycats. Marvel had this planned for many years. Everybody else just looking at potential dollar signs.

And now they will flood the market with bad unimaginative films that lack creativity. Fatigue will set soon.

Marvel is pushing just as many movies (more actually) than the other studios. Plus neither Thor:TDW not IM3 were that good.

Anyway, we will see if WB and Fox can create a good cinematic universe. I have faith that both will. Anyway, while ASM2 had many problems I don't believe the build up for the S6 was bad. Frankly, that was one of the most interesting parts of the movie.

Terrible costume aside, in terms of personality, characterization, and Dafoe's over the top performance, the Green Goblin was perfect.

That would be "perfect" enough for radio but film is a visual medium. :oldrazz:

I completely agree with this. I recently rewatched SM1 and I had forgotten how true to the character the performance was. Even his relationships with Harry and Peter were done in a satisfying way that mirrored the comics.

Agreed. I loved him. Dafoe did a fantastic job with the Goblin. He was just a ton of fun.
