Agreed. I haven't liked much of anything out of Spider-Man since the Spectacular Spider-Man cartoon got cancelled. The modern stuff (comics, films, cartoons, video games) are all awful.

I like the movies.
I stopped playing video games a long time ago.
I'm currently rewatching SSM on blu ray.
I just picked up ASM and USM #1s

So I personally am okay with Spidey but definitely right now, critically in all media Spider-Man is in the crapper.

WB walked SR to 200 million from 192 million. SONY will do the same - making sure it eclipses SR's 200 million.

A lot of good it did them. Everyone saw through it and still thought of SR as a failure, and the sequel was dead in the water.

IMO, it isn't worth bothering to do.

It was upsetting that shows like Avengers and Young Justice were above and beyond better than Ultimate Spider-Man but that's the show that got renewed. :down

I assume you mean Earth's Mightiest Heroes. Avengers Assembled is pretty awful too.

A-EMH and SSM were incredible (SSM my second favorite animated show of all time) and were cancelled for Ulitmate Avengers and Ultimate Spider-Man. Disney really knocking it out of the park with their new shows.

Ultimate Spider-Man needs to get cancelled A.S.A.P...

Why is there a drop in home media? The thing hasn't even been released yet. You could argue all the people that skipped the movie will be far more willing to take chance on the movie on DVD/Blu ray
There are also a lot of movies for May and ASM2 was an easy skip.
With a drop in domestic you 'may' see a raise in DVD/Blu ray sales/rental.
It's just the evolution of the industry. We're living in an era where people care less and less about physical media (which takes up space) in favor of digital services like iTunes and Netflix.

I gave up on Spider-Man comics pretty much around the time of the Clone Saga, around 2000 when the Ultimate Universe was starting I like everybody else got all caught up on the hype and started buying USM, but then after having them stored away years of not reading I realized that those comics were just junk so I sold them away.

Marvel 616 is the true continuity.

To do a proper director's cut cost a good bit of coin. Could be throwing good money after bad. Though it is probably not a bad idea for a double dip.

by that you mean a few green screens and special props? also, teekay stated he saw the roguh cut a while back and seeing all of the statements that happened in the directors cut are true and i see no reason to ignore those. i say if they gave us a director's cut they would make good amount of money.

I doubt it. The only way a Director's Cuts in theaters really only work if people actually like the movie to begin with like Blade Runner and Lord of the Rings.

we got daredevil and in my area not too many people enjoyed watchmen

We get Director's cuts usually to increase DVD/Blu-Ray sales. Usually extended cuts that come to the theater is usually for those that do well previously.

Well if you mean the former, then yeah.

You also got to remember, the money that would be required to release a director's cut in the theater. Again, for a movie that isn't really making the money it what was expected to.

yeah, hopefully sony releases a director's cut. they'd be real stupid enough to screw over the sinister six.

A director's cut in theatres would be awesome. I really limited release in select cinemas for a week. Rated 15.

i meant a director's cut on blue ray/dvd but a director's cut in theaters would do nicely as well. maybw when the sales of the uncut dvd goes up

I can't see a director's cut helping this movie too much. No matter what you do, people really aren't going to be inclined to pick up a DVD of a movie that they didn't even care about while it was in theaters.

nah, i'm sure it's gonna do fine on sales if they go for a director's cut. however, it'd be crazy to blame a director regardless of all the evidence like some deleted scenes, pre visualizations, edits, etc. just because of their their ego, pride, arrgance, ignorance, or maybe something like a code of being critics and fimmakers or some **** like that. i met alot of ignorant people online like say moviebob, trilbee, etc.

ASM made only around 80M from DVD/blu-ray sales in North America. Think this one will finish around 50M max. And some Director Cut will make no difference.

However it's pointless to talk about box office anymore. ASM2 had bigger budgets (both production and marketing) but will make much less money than the first one (55% from North America X 25% from China so some increase in Asia won't cover anything). I don't know... maybe they'll fire Amy Pascal now. However I'm absolutely sure we'll see at least two or three more Spidey movies from Sony. They just have to find out how to lower budgets. I mean... ASM2 had like 25 minutes of action scenes so why they spent 440M on that?? 160-180M production budget + 140-160 marketing / distribution and they'd be fine with just 600M worldwide.
