That's why Batman will fall.

I'm just tired of the new Batman trend. We've had discussions here about this, and yes, Batman has always been popular, and always will be. But ever since TDK trilogy, it feels like he is everywhere.

Yeah, all the unintelligent attractive girls that claim they are nerds like him, and don't know nothing about it. The fact is, for some reason, people right think they're cool if they like Batman. I don't get it. Then I get harassed for liking Spider-man better, and I just laugh at them because they only watch Nolan Batman movies and really know nothing about the character.

While I also can't get over that casting decision, I don't think its fair to say the film will be garbage just yet. We honestly don't know anything about this movie other than Batman being in it.

The Snyder/Goyer pairing is still on board right?

He may have a point in saying that it will be garbage, irrespective of the casting decision

MOS was garbage on its own. Now they're throwing in a completely different Ben Affleck Batman to try and compete with The Avengers?

This movie is going to get destroyed by the critics. I can't wait.

Especially when WB seems to have no idea about how to approach it.They are more keen on trying to go head-to-head with TA2 than make good movies and a base for the cinematic universe they want to set-up

The whole problem with the way Warner Bros is going about things is that they are trying to rush things and are not taking their time at all. The Avengers were built through multiple films ranging from decent to amazing. The movies prior to The Avengers made you love the characters, like Iron Man 1 made people fall in love with Iron Man.

I think its too soon to have a Batman/Superman crossover. If MOS was far more successful critically and box office wise, we would simply be getting MOS2. But WB knows that adding Batman to the mix will give them huge box office results, so they want to shove him in the next movie in order to sell more movie tickets.

I can see a conversation like this happening at a WB board meeting:

WB executive: "Man of Steel was a disappointment. What do we do?"

Executive #2: "Well, we could just make another Superman movie and give it our best."

*Everyone in the room laughs*

Executive #3 "Well, people really love Batman now. Why not throw him in the next movie? People will want to see that."

Executive #1 "Okay, cool! Let's forget that this is a Superman series and focus more on Batman. Then we will be one step closer to a Justice League movie."

Executive #2: "Who should we cast as Batman?"

Executive #3: "Does it matter? Just put Ben Affleck or someone in the costume, people will see it anyway."

Executive #1: "Then its a done deal!"

LOL. Sad, but true...

Batman vs superman will make big money, I think judging it on one actor by and saying it will be ripped apart by critics is silly

Lolololololol, I imagine this happened the same way above, batman fanboys will never admit to it though. They refuse to believe the idea that Batman is just being thrown in to the next DC movie.

I think Affleck was an odd choice, but I'm not saying the movie is going to suck because of that. I will give it a fair chance, but I personally feel that putting Batman in the movie was a recent decision after WB saw the negative response of MOS.

I am not judging it on the one actor

I am judging it on the Snyder/Goyer pairing returning to direct and write,And WB rushing things and having no plan at all

Pretty much sums up DC Entertainment and Warner Brothers...
I think Affleck was a good choice, he could help Snyder direct!

Does anyone find it strange that WB introduced the announcement at SDCC with a quote from "The Dark Knight Returns," which is a Batman storyline featuring Superman? When this is supposed to be a Superman storyline featuring Batman?

It's foreshadowing who really owns the movie. Batman, not Superman.

Batman will, no doubt, steal the show. It shows that the studio is desperate and taking the easy route.

Its funny because they are doing something risky and playing it safe at the same time. Risky because they better not screw up the first live-action Batman/Superman film, and playing it safe because throwing in Batman is easier thank making a really good standalone Superman film to bring in more audience members.

i'd say sony, marvel & fox have also been guilty of playing it safe when it suits them so just let WB do what they want to do, it will make alot of batman fans happy and anyone who wanted to see batman and superman in the same movie for long long time

i'm not following batman vs superman very closely but i'm bound to see the movie when its out just like i did the man of steel which i honestly thought was ok, but in all fairness to WB this is how i can see it playing out

*Man of steel
*Batman vs superman
*Solo batman movie
*Justice league

now that may not be the most logical way to go if you compare to marvel but its a fine way to do it if they do go that route

I would be really disappointed if we get another solo Batman film after Batman vs. Superman. We have enough Batman... let another DC hero shine.

Why not make a Flash movie?

they already tried to make a green lantern movie which didn't do great, so i can see them being abit unsure about a flash solo movie

Guys...Batman/Superman was the plan all along. Affleck was approached earlier this year and their were rumors about him playing Batman last year.

I don't think there are many DC characters who are worthy of solo films.

Batman has had his share of TERRIBE, ATROCIOUS movies (Batman & Robin), so I think Green Lantern deserves another chance.

Probably for a JL movie after MOS2

Its clear they are now unwilling to take a risk on another Solo Superman movie after two of them failed in a row

Exactly. Obviously they would plan on putting Batman in a JLA film from the beginning, but I don't think a Batman/Superman film was always planned.
