I don't think that's a bold statement considering Gwen's death was butchered to fit MJ's rescue in SM1 and Gwen had a pointless cameo in SM3.

Anyone read that thing on Newsarama. Reports that Sony has confirmed that The Amazing Spider-Man 2 trailer will debut this Friday at the SDCC panel for the film.

Doesn't say anything about it going online for the public.

Yeah, but its crazy to think it won't release online soon after.

Not only will they not want to make fans wait, but they will want to release it ahead of the articles that will undoubtedly reveal every detail of what they talk about, and what footage they show, including the trailer.

Making fans wait is no issue for a major studio because fans will see it regardless. It's like making your kid or baby brother wait for something that you know he or she wants..lol at the end of the day, they still want it, whether you give it to them when they want it or when you choose to give it. And they know they're getting free earned media with this so all of the articles and write ups is just helping them out, they aren't trying to dodge that

Because it fulfills the one objective it has,to be scary.That footage was scary.And that's the only part that felt scary in all of Spider-man movies so far(except maybe the Doc-Ock Hospital scene in SM2)

Yes, I agree 100%. I always thought Raimi would use his experience as a horror director to make Venom rather creepy, but unfortunately that never happened.

Definitely but I am staying here for the most part cause I don't see true fans but only here, this is why I love the hype cause people are down to earth and mostly respectful and has a brain unlike the GA and TASM haters

There are still a number of members here who like to trash every little thing involving TASM. Anno argued about Peter saying "I have to stop him... because I created him." And this was an argument that lasted a long time.

In his defense, the majority of people who hated it WERE Raimi fanboys and people who hated it because it was a reboot.

The GA was, for the most part, acceptive.

And honestly, those who disliked it PURELY because it was flawed, and not including revisting the origin, is a minority. A very small minority at that.

The GA gave TASM an 81% on RT with a score of 4/5... which is pretty darn good if you ask me. Most of the people I know personally who dislike TASM say things like "Why do we need a reboot?" or "Tobey Maguire is the one true Peter Parker" and so on. So there is some truth in what you said.

The whole Goblin throwing MJ off the bridge was their modified version I guess. Only it was supposed to be Gwen and she was supposed to die.

It seems to have been inspired by USM where MJ gets thrown off a bridge by the Green Goblin and ends up living.

but rhino is supposed to be a easy villian to handle but yes i do want electro to ravage spidey but i dont think all his effects are done yet but yeah i cant wait

Witty Spidey, new villain, new tone (less cheesy), new universe, new love interest, new chracters, Webshooters....

Villain was basically the same as GG in SM1, webshooters added nothing to the story, he didn't run out apart from the Lizard destroying them :/(so they're irrelevant).
Spider Man cracked jokes in the Raimi movies, Gwen was in SM3 -_- , less cheesy??? (see crane scene, or the scene Peter does a handstand on top of a skyscrapper and falls off in broad daylight).Captain Stacy was also in SM3. So yeah, you could have just said Peter's parents are the new characters but that went nowhere :/

Probably will be SOMETHING, nothing too major. You don't want to release everything before the main event.

For today yeah. It all seems like a build up towards the panel Friday. There's gotta be something for the public too with that hashtag you know.

Over 1.2 billion worldwide and an A+ on Cinema score, yep the general audience will forget that movie alright

Raimi didn't even attempt to do the "Death of Gwen Stacy" though, so it was never done "wrong".

It's still unknown whether it wall be "done right" in this series, so it's a pretty baseless assertion to say so.

Well it's safe to say another thing different about the Webb Spider-man versus Raimi's is The Death of Gwen Stacy is finally given much deserved attention.

Are you F***ing kidding? The Stacys were nothing like they were on the comics. Is TDKR ripping off B&R? It is less cheesy, the crane scene is arguable and webshooters add dynamics to fights as they can be destroyed. Rami Spidey said here's your change and that was it... Most of Spideys villains are mad scientists so Doc Ock and GG are ripp offs aswell.
