@I AN LEGEND I get what you mean but that's too unnatural of a way to converse/discuss things. Sometimes you need a bit of the conflict to keep stimulated.

There needs to be a "I Love What I'm Seeing" thread, a "I Hate What I'm Seeing" thread, and maybe a "Meh, Not Bad" thread.

or people could stop complaining about all the complaining.

cuz really.... what does that accomplish?

It's so funny, this place feels so divided and personally I'm getting more stoked with each new pic or announcement, for a sequel to a movie I didn't even like. :P

The video of them filming that scene makes me smile. And Shailene looks great as MJ in that one pic of her in movie make up.

Oh and I thought other boards on this forum were nitpicky, but this one takes the cake so far. :awesome:
i don't think it's that divided, people jus make a big deal out of 5-6 people consistently complaining about everything.

Same here, I'm just so happy to see all these new pics & clips after such a long wait!! It's just a little silly and futile to freak out over little things w/o having seen the final product yet. Can't wait till the first trailer comes out, can you imagine? This place will implode!! :wow:

Is he cheering because that's the first scene they've shot with Peter?

You don't remember all the Twilight comparisons and people that said Peter looked like Edward? Even after the movie came out people complained about his hair. It looks fine, it just looks weird in that one shoe because he's looking down, so it looks kind of blocky

I was never one of those people that complained about the haircut in the first movie. I liked it from the start and thought it fit well for Peter. This new one doesn't. It's not a bad haircut but I just can't see Peter with that haircut. It doesn't fit him IMO. I will probably get used to it but the one from the first movie was a lot better IMO.

To be honest with you the haircut is really similar to the one he's had in the comics for a while now.

I haven't read a lot of Slott's run but I don't remember his hair being like that at all.

Those clothes he's wearing for that scene combined with that hair makes Peter look like some designer model. I was fine with his dress in the first but here it looks like he shops at some high quality stores for someone with only one Aunt supporting him. Maguire's Peter had very basic and limited clothing that fit the character and his circumstances. Granted, Garfield's Peter is still in high school with access to more of an income but these clothes still look of high quality. Or I don't know **** about where you could find these kind of clothes that could realistically be worn by someone that age because I haven't personally looked for them. I get that this is more of a modern Peter but I really hope they address the money issue in this one.

Though from the video, it looks like that car could be Peter's and it broke down. From the looks of it, it looks like a sweet scene between the two. Let's hope their chemistry is good.

High quality? You can find everything he's wearing at a thrift store. Easily.

I disagree. With... just about everything you said.

Being that I am a fan and don't give a **** if Rhino is a robot or a guy in a robot or any other creative, visually appealing, believably plot-driven idea Webb can come up with. Being that I'm a fan and love that Peter learned to ride a skateboard, really likes chocolate milk but can't afford it, and has anti-gravity hair. Max Dillon can be black, Curt Connors can be a bachelor, Norman Osborn can be terminally ill. I'm all for new stories and those that deviate from the comics.

Not to mention, Marvel Studios has done a phenomenal job of ripping its entire MCU off the pages of the comic books. Nolan did it his way, but that's certainly not the only way.

Beyond that, you should be aware of the pandering studios (namely sony (namely Avi Arad)) are capable of. Do I think they read my criticisms? Absolutely not. But do I think they take into account things like the unadulterated hate ASM's costume got? absolutely.

I'm a fan as well, some changes seem dumb and pandering to me and some are actually creative and interesting, which I welcome with open arms. I understand that change and deviations need to happen. I'm not going to love every choice the studio makes, nor am I going to hate every choice they make.

My comment stems more from the pervasive negativity at every choice made which deviates from what has appeared in the comic book or television series. It happens on these boads EVERY single time.

Totally agree with the last part though. Cheers!

Yeah, I was just going to say. It makes him look like he shops at Goodwill

Aaaggghhh I told myself I wasn't gonna look at all of this stuff after knowing too much about TASM1... But I can't help myself. I have to stop sometime though.

Same here. I don't want to spoil the movie for myself but I also can't handle waiting until 2014 for it to come out.

Well, one thing to keep in mind (because I think a lot of people miss this fact) is that most often, people are each complaining about different things. So it just looks like everyone is complaining all the time, when in actuality its just a collage of opinions, both negative and positive. At least from what I can tell.

i hope we get a teaser soon similar to the one for TASM where it had clips, i know its not likely to be very soon which sucks

The haircut is meant to emphasize he change in his personality which we saw take place last film. At the beginning of the first film Peter was dressing like a real loner so to speak, with a lot of heavy clothes no top of clothes like he had no confidence in himself, and his hair was pretty dishavled and unkempt. By the end of the movie, while he still had the same hair, he was a much more confident person and you could see it in his change of clothing, now wearing just t-shirts.

The final evolution is this haircut, which is obviously well groomed and exudes confidence. I don't think it's stupid, it's just a natural progression of the character and it looks good on him.

The problem isn't so much that they changed it (even though I loved the old one). It is that the new one isn't so good. They've could've done a better one IMO.

Who knows? That could be the last scene too! We all know they shoot out of order and we'll probably be seeing a lot of Shailene in the next week or so b/c she has leave and film her new film "Divergent" in March (she's the lead) So they're likely shooting all her scenes first.

It's exactly the same as TASM. Trendy, expensive clothing. It's a Hollywood blockbuster aimed at a younger demographic. It comes with the territory. It's something you've just got to accept.

Imagine getting a scene with Peter dancing in a thrift shop with the song "Thrift Shop" playing in the background.

It's absolutely sickening imagining that. :lmao:

Around here, the complaints are rarely varied. Most of the negative complaints tend to get stuck on one thing. Take a look at the Shailene Woodley thread to see just about everyone complaining that Shailene doesn't look exactly like MJ from the comics ( "super hot" super model) so therefore she's all wrong for the part- aside from the fact we've not seen or heard a second of her performance.

How are people missing the point in this one...

We are not questioning her acting ability. We are saying that we want both a very attractive MJ AND acting ability if possible. MJ's appearance is a big part of her character...

True. And as someone else mentioned, conflict usually drives discussion. So the MJ thread is quite large, quite prominent and yes, quite negative.

But because everyone immediately accepted Dane Dehaan as a very decent casting choice for Harry Osborn that thread is practically dead silent. Everyone already mentioned how much they enjoy the choice, so no one has anything left to say (argue about).

Sounds like some of you have an issue with someone who likes to dress nice and fashionable, Andrew is a very dapper and fashionable dude Im glad they're letting his Peter reflect his own style a bit.

Its such a crazy idea!!! Don't you know!?! There is no such thing as an extremely attractive actress with actual acting talent. It just doesn't exist apparently :whatever:

Like the people claiming Peter's nerdiness is a big part of his character, yet it was all but done away with in TASM.

I'm all for a more interesting and compelling reinterpretation of the MJ character just the same as we got a reinterpretation of the Peter Parker character.
