Just you. Hopefully.
This looks like a taller Justin Bieber with brown hair to me lol.

Shouldn't have expected anything less from the good people of SHH.

Actually, this is my first time "whining" in a good while.

I don't usually find much to complain about in the new Spider-Man movies. But the haircut just looks stupid.

Now, does Peter having this haircut take away from the overall movie? No. Does it make him act differently? No. Does it change his relationship with MJ? No. However, why fix something that isn't broken? The only reason why something like that haircut would annoy me is because everything else about Peter will (presumably) be spot on.

And like I said, I will reserve final judgement till I see the movie. This is just my current impression based on the info released. I admit that I could be completely wrong about both Peter's look and Shailene as MJ.

You don't remember all the Twilight comparisons and people that said Peter looked like Edward? Even after the movie came out people complained about his hair. It looks fine, it just looks weird in that one shoe because he's looking down, so it looks kind of blocky

I like how they're making Peter look like a cool kid in this movie. Nice progression.

I love the hair! Groovy on top, buzzcut on the sides, looks damn great.

.

This. All of this.

However it is starting to grow on me now, and it looks pretty damn great. But the other feelings haven't gone away.

Don't forget people also complained bout him having a skateboard. And now apparently it's not right for him to have a car? Tobey rode a freakin' scooter in SM2. Did anyone complain that that was out of character?

To be honest with you the haircut is really similar to the one he's had in the comics for a while now.

Related to the thug in the cheap spidey costume..

Could it be that Norman Osborn sent that thug to frame Peter and get his reputation in a twist?

Tbh I don't think it could be copycats..it could be someone framing spidey

Nobody is questioning the similarity to the comics. We're talking about the hairstyle in general.

Now THAT I agree with. They where ridiculous.

I think it's fair to critique design choices. Nothing wrong with it. But saying a film will be bad because of some design choices is just silly.

The haircut is meant to emphasize he change in his personality which we saw take place last film. At the beginning of the first film Peter was dressing like a real loner so to speak, with a lot of heavy clothes no top of clothes like he had no confidence in himself, and his hair was pretty dishavled and unkempt. By the end of the movie, while he still had the same hair, he was a much more confident person and you could see it in his change of clothing, now wearing just t-shirts.

The final evolution is this haircut, which is obviously well groomed and exudes confidence. I don't think it's stupid, it's just a natural progression of the character and it looks good on him.

don't like the whining, go over to the costume thread. Or check out the casting threads for Dane Dehaan or Felicity Jones. What I generally see is praise when the crew makes a decision fans respond well to and criticism when a left-field or alienating choice is made. And yes, for those ones we are forced to wait until the movie comes out to make a final decision.

Without all that criticism from us, critics, and the GA would we really ever get great (superhero) films?

The fans don't know anything. They want everything to look straight from the comic and that's it. if it doesn't look straight from the page, they don't like it.

This is extremely limiting as far as creative choices go which are necessary in a successful adaptation. If Nolan had listened to the fans, we'd never have gotten the wonderfully inventive Batman films we got.

I'm not saying that criticism can't be relevant to choices that studios make, but you don't have nearly the power with your little criticims that you think you do.

It's essentially damned if you do, damned if you don't with this movie.

No, he rode one in the comics.

But yeah, who cares about the car thing, seriously? After all the changes in TASM, people are complaining about a car which might not even be his?

It's so funny, this place feels so divided and personally I'm getting more stoked with each new pic or announcement, for a sequel to a movie I didn't even like. :P

The video of them filming that scene makes me smile. And Shailene looks great as MJ in that one pic of her in movie make up.

Oh and I thought other boards on this forum were nitpicky, but this one takes the cake so far. :awesome:

I disagree. With... just about everything you said.

Being that I am a fan and don't give a **** if Rhino is a robot or a guy in a robot or any other creative, visually appealing, believably plot-driven idea Webb can come up with. Being that I'm a fan and love that Peter learned to ride a skateboard, really likes chocolate milk but can't afford it, and has anti-gravity hair. Max Dillon can be black, Curt Connors can be a bachelor, Norman Osborn can be terminally ill. I'm all for new stories and those that deviate from the comics.

Not to mention, Marvel Studios has done a phenomenal job of ripping its entire MCU off the pages of the comic books. Nolan did it his way, but that's certainly not the only way.

Beyond that, you should be aware of the pandering studios (namely sony (namely Avi Arad)) are capable of. Do I think they read my criticisms? Absolutely not. But do I think they take into account things like the unadulterated hate ASM's costume got? absolutely.

Stop generalizing. You're right about a majority of people, but I'm not one of those people.

Same here, I'm just so happy to see all these new pics & clips after such a long wait!! It's just a little silly and futile to freak out over little things w/o having seen the final product yet. Can't wait till the first trailer comes out, can you imagine? This place will implode!! :wow:
