The Amazing Spider-Man 2 The Amazing Spider-Man 2 General Discussion - Part 2

I meant for practical reasons, like the actor/stunt guys found it uncomfortable or it got damaged during filming too easily.

Can't find the post now, but someone thought they heard that Garfield was allergic to it? I don't think I ever heard him say that but he did mention that he found the material very "irritating", not sure if it had anything to do with the overhaul though.

I wish Marc could talk more about the costume right now, he seems pretty in tune with what the fans are saying/thinking and I'm sure he was fully aware that this new costume would get plenty of backlash from some people. I'd love to hear the thought process behind all the changes, but I guess we'll have to wait until the promo interviews start or when the DVD is released.

When I first saw the photo this morning, I hated all the changes, but after seeing more photos, it's slowwwwly starting to grow on me...

I'm not sure either, but it seems like a reasonable possibility. Good luck drilling that concept into some peoples heads though.

I'm so happy with this new suit. It seriously feels like an old friend has come back home. :)

The Floating Spider-man O_o
I don't know how any genuine fan of Spider-Man can dislike this costume. It is, quite literally, the comicbook page brought to life. I can scan a panel from my copy of The Amazing Spider-Man #375 to prove that.

As for MJ, well...I guess they're going for a different sort of MJ. Woodley is fine, but certainly no knockout (and for those about to knock on Dunst, she was HAWT in 2002's film). Still, I'll wait to make a final judgement on her based on two things: her performance, and how she's filmed.

You and I are in the exact same wavelength. :highfive:

I get my own ****ing point just fine. They changed the costume between Begins and TDK because Bale was having heat exhaustion in the damn thing. If you're so dead set on arguing find someone else.

Lol, and once again...Bale kept a suit that barely gave him room to breath and you just look over that "little" detail.

Designers improved on the design of the Batsuit from Batman Begins, adding wide elastic banding to help bind the costume to Bale, and suggest more sophisticated technology. It was constructed from 200 individual pieces of rubber, fiberglass, metallic mesh, and nylon. The new cowl was modeled after a motorcycle helmet and separated from the neck piece, allowing Bale to turn his head left and right and nod up and down

New suit. You're welcome. Bye now.

I don't disagree. I actually love the suit... but it seems totally off when looking at the last film. Maybe there will be a different tone to the sequel? It just seemed that the 360 degree turn in costume from one film to the next is strange.

Let me explain what's going on here:

People who prefer Raimi's trilogy to TASM insist that the new suit is taking things from Raimi's suit.

Hey guys, check this out.

The pic we see of the new web shooters look very similar to early and various designs of the TASM web shooters. Even the viral designs.
Just imagine if what you see above had a bracelet around them.

I apologize if these photos are huge.
It's just something I noticed.

Not to mention the fact that the suit is nearly the Ultimate one, which is way different than Raimi's.

And look at that, it says nothing about how TDK/TDKR suit was hard on Bale for him to breath.

Oh, and here ya go. YOU'RE welcome.

The newest film 'The Dark Knight Rises' sees Bale's Batman take on Tom Hardy's Bane, but the star told Empire magazine that fans are lucky he even managed to stand up when donning the suit.

He admitted that the cowl, or hooded outfit, leaves him in such discomfort that he almost loses consciousness, although the issues were not as bad as on the first movie 'Batman Begins'.

He said: "When it gets cold the cowl is extremely tight, and it gets better the warmer I get it; it becomes more flexible. But, after a couple of takes, I was trying to breathe properly in my nose. I was starting to see stars and I said, 'I have to take this off'. And thank God, on this one I can - on Batman Begins I couldn't - so I had to get inside because I couldn't let anybody see me without the cowl."

What's wrong if the web-shooters look like this:

Whats wrong is that its from that awful animated show...I like the idea of Peter building his own web shooters...not someone else.

That would be fine, if I had ONCE MENTIONED BALE BEING UNABLE TO BREATHE. However, I never brought that up. You did. Learn to read if you're going to internet, kid.

breaking: new the amazing spider-man 2 suit looks like spider-man.

Lol. Take your own advice there bud, as I made the comparison BECAUSE Nolan and Bale kept a suit that was still trouble for Bale. Don't see why they didn't keep the original TAS-M suit if others have gone passed obstacles and still use the suit.
