Kinda like TDKR but with better pacing.

 That pacing was awful in TDKR!

I'm assuming only a small portion of the film will take place in Winter though since the majority of it is supposed to be in Summer.

The movie will either show a short scene in the winter during the beginning of the film, which wouldn't be too long after TASM1, OR...

will skip a long period of time after the events of TASM2 (the following winter). I wonder which we will get...

I think I might dislike him even more after reading this. I stopped reading the Ultimate series when Peter died. There really isn't much modern comics I read anymore since peter is dead in like all the series, and Kaine is Scarlet Spidey

I'm done with modern comics at this point... here and there I will pick up an issue and read it, but overall... I'm back to the classics.

I'm really looking forward to winter Spidey, I don't think its ever been done in a movie before.

You're right, it hasn't been done before. I want to see how Spider-Man is able to make himself feel warm while swinging through cold NYC streets.

its going to be a very slow few months guys. I always hope that when i come on here that the general discussion will be on thread like 30 or somthing then ill know we got a trailer or some sort of footage

 Yeah I can't wait to see that scene where hes got that vest and scarf on. :woot:

I've started re-reading the classics today, thought it might be a good time killer while waiting for news aha.

The start could perhaps be at graduation but as the theme is time we see Peter going through differerent stages of his life like graduation and starting uni.

Speaking of explosions and spectacle, while I do want some nice eye candy for this film, I don't want there to be so much as to compromise the integrity of the story. That was my biggest gripe with Man of Steel (most Zack Snyder movies in general, really).

Snyder went full ****** in the last 40 mins of MOS :o

All Spider Man movies have delivered cool, epic and satisfying action and it's not repetitive at all, it's all different that's awesome. :woot:

There was a big little sun thing. That was, you know, cool to look at. I was like whoaaa when I saw it. I was like, 9 then, but still. My eyes enjoyed that.

EDIT: WAIT, GUYS. Pumpkin bombs.

Man that fight scenes was brutal and little VFX was used, just two guys in suits beating the S@*t out of each other :woot:

I want GG in Webb's films to be even more brutal and menacing (not saying that Defoe didn't do a great job, he was awesome).

Many people are saying the mixed reaction of TASM will effect TASM2 box office wise, what does everyone think?

personally i don't think it will

It will have some effect to be honest, TASM was divided among crtics and fans, so we'll see but I think it will make slightly more than TASM.:o

Not at all. If anything, my comment and the Neil Blomkamp quote is railing against the studios , who hire young, talented, capable directors who they can and do take advantage of (and while I may not think Webb was 100% perfect for Spider-Man, it certainly doesn't mean I think his efforts were garbage).

This is what happens when the executives and studio heads start trying to call the creative shots. "Trim this down. Remove this character. Add this character. This story element needs to go, it's too confusing for the audience. We need more action, etc..."

Preach brother, preach :woot:

*yawn* being forced to use a character doesn't mean you just dump on them because you don't like them. It's a directors job when forced... to still make the best damn movie they can, and RESEARCH about a character they don't understand :o

The director doesn't have the final call, bro. It's the Studio Execs (Sony in this case) since they pay for the majority of the film. The director projects the Execs' vision, as does the writer. They are getting paid to do their job and not question their bosses. Only in some cases does the writer and director get full freedom (Dark Knight Trilogy, Avengers). Wish it was like that more.

Raimi didn't want to do Venom period.

It's like me forcing you to do a job in an area you know little about or don't really care for and ending with me being unsatisfied with the outcome of your final product.

Now is that fair? not really.:o

Agreed. I love it. According to the stunt team, I think there will be some of that in this movie.

From denofgeek.com :
Is there anything fans can expect, action-wise, that we didn’t get in the last film?

Andy: I can’t say who with, but there’s a lot more one-on-one fight action in this one, with Spider-Man fighting bad guys, absolutely.

Great post.

That sounds likely, the being cocky then being humbled by Electro.

I hope they don't go full comedy like Avengers or comedy that contradicts the tone like IM3

They need the right balance at the right time

The quips I thought were okay in TASM.

"Really? You seriously think I'm a cop. Cop in a skin tight red and blue suit. You know, you've got a mind of a true scholar sir. I was going more for the guys that do luge."
- I think this was actually my favorite of the whole movie.

The knfe joke was funny but it went on for too long and it ended up as if Spidey was being a dick

Spidey isn't all about just cracking one-liners and telling jokes but even telling jokes in some of his most dangerous and serious moments is an integral part of the character. He's incredibly verbal. Look at the HS fight for example--it's not as if he was cracking jokes the entire time. He was talking quite a bit though i.e. trying to make Connors listen "Let's talk this out." Although a few humorous quotes were thrown in there, "Don't...make...me...have...to....hurt you! Ahhhhh!" and then of course there was him just voicing his thoughts, "Uck, that is disgusting!"

Spidey talking or even making jokes doesn't necessarily take away from the seriousness of a scene. Being verbal in any situation is a very important part of his character and one that needs to be utilized imo. Raimi hardly used it and his Spidey suffered because of it. Same with not using practical webshooters per his reasoning.

So you wanted Spidey to quip while the GG was throwing MJ on a bridge or whilst he was fighting Doc Ock on a speeding train??

That wouldn't stop it from being pointless. In CBMs, it usually done by acton. In comic books, they can use dialogue that can be quite dumb at times.

And besides, the last battle is NOTHING to joke about.

Andrew on ASM2: We get to build on a foundation we set with the first one, says Garfield. "We get to really expand and explore. Alex Kurtzman and Bob Orci wrote something Layered and rich, and full of twists, and turns, and dimensions. And I think it's going to be a much more fun picture.

Man F@*k Orci and Kurtzman, a good story doesn't need "twists" and "turns"...I detest those two writers. Their STID script reached levels of prometheus nonsense, that's why I'm staying optimistic about TASM2. :o

TASM was very different from the first Raimi movie, even how the origin played out was different. TASM 2 looks nothing like SM 2, and the suit is like the COMICS suit. The fact that you are calling this a Raimi retread months before it comes out shows me that you aren't really paying attention to the production, or are deliberately trolling. Also, If there is nothing that you like about the production, then why the hell are you even on this forum.

To be fair certain shots in the teaser alluded to Raimi's SM2.:o

Damn...why did Spectacular Spiderman get canceled? That was an awesome show. One of my faves ever. USM isn't really that good.

That show had so many Raimi homages.:woot:

I'm sorry, but please don't compare STID to Prometheus, thanks.
