And honestly, I really do think in the end Norman will be the GG. TSSM all the way!

Let's place some bets.

Who thinks we'll be at General Discussion Part 27 by the time we get out first trailer?
Or who thinks we'll still be on this one?

Anybody? $10 digital dollars we'll be at Part 27 by then.

Doesn't compare but it was really a good fight.IMO the only fight in the whole X-men franchise worth its salt

I enjoyed it more than all the fights in TASM,even more than the school fight

Like I've said previously,Spider-man fights work best when it is in motion. On a train,in the street among cars, free falls, underwater.Stuff like that

The climax of First Class had some kickass action sequences.

10? How about 11? I remember MOS' drought. That was horrible!

The scene with the Cuban Missile Crisis was cool, but IMO there were no really good fight scenes between characters.

I was serious about the bet, guys.

You get to put $10 Digital Dollars into your sig.

Saw a great quote by Neil Blomkamp of District 9 fame:

"When a young director gets hired by a major studio to do a 125 million dollar film based on preexisting intellectual piece of property, they are climbing to the meat grinder and what you are coming out on the other side is a generic, heavily studio controlled pile of garbage that ends up on the other side of the burger king wrapper".

Just felt this was the appropriate forum.

So Christopher Nolan (35 when he made Batman Begins) made a piece of crap? Rupert Wyatt (second film being Rise of the Planet of the Apes) made a pile of garbage? I admire Blomkamp as a filmmaker, but that statement is a generalization.

Nolan seems to be the exception rather than the rule. He already had three great films which had achieved many accolades under his belt, which I am sure helped a bit.

As far as Rise of the Planet of the Apes- I thought it was fine, but it certainly wasn't anything exceptional. Whether this is due to his directorial skills or studio mandates, I do not know.

Generally though, Blomkamps assessment is correct. It is certainly accurate in Marc Webb's case.

Thank you for yet again for your negative contribution to this thread.

Oh no! I said something you disagree with, therefore I'm being negative!:whatever:

At least I'm on topic. Perhaps we should go back to discussing X-Men first class?

Or maybe I should take your lead and just complain about other posters?

Vid, do u have any friends in real life? Just wondering

We can discuss that bet I proposed earlier...

Really? Guy has a different opinion than you and you start saying stuff like this?

I really wish the Spidey boards weren't such childish **** now.

That gif = :lmao:

And Vid, yes, coming on the thread just to say Marc Webb's efforts were a steaming pile of garbage IS negative. Confused as to why that needs clarification.

Let Vid be Vid. You all know his opinions and his manner of posting by now. I haven't even been here a month and I get it. So nobody should really be surprised or taken aback at this point.

If you think he's trying to stir up trouble (and I'm not saying he is), ignore it. Otherwise you'll be contributing to that trouble.

Ditto.

No offense to those who don't contribute to the childish ****.

Yup. This.

Many people are saying the mixed reaction of TASM will effect TASM2 box office wise, what does everyone think?

personally i don't think it will

^Nope. I think the GA for the most part liked TASM.
