The fact that they're acknowledging the demand for the Sinister Six... says something. I mean, Spidey runs the risk of paling next to the novel superhero team-ups from the next couple of years. If they wanna keep up, they've got to offer equal badassery.

And you also gotta keep in mind that there's several self proclaimed fan-boys working on this film As well from the art department, set design, film crew, to the actors and director themselves. Im sure they've had fun with their own fanboyisms on set for months now. Them labeling stage six as sin six is simply having fun at work.

This speaks nothing about the sin six actually showing up. Do i think they will eventually? You bet. But the sign is far from proof

So Webb and co have said many times that they've embraced the lunacy of Spider-man's world for this one and have pushed the level of humor (particularly physical humor like the subway scene in ASM) to the extreme.

There will be physical comedic beats inspired by Buster Keaton and Charlie Chaplin. Peter's bedroom will be a rotating set.
Paul Giamatti's role in the film will also be one to play up the film's level of humor.

This prospect is both exciting and definitely makes me curious to see how it will turn out on screen. That being said, I personally found there were hit and misses in ASM's humor. The subway scene was decent enough, but felt a bit flat overall.

How you guys feel about Webb and co. embracing a more humorous and comic book aspect for ASM2, relative to how those humor beats were executed in the previous film?

Honestly, I really hope the movie is more lighthearted.

I thought the first ASM was dreary and uninspired, with a very unlikable lead character. I don't need ASM2 to be goofy the entire time, but I'd like a good balance of fun and seriousness. I think the MCU movies have proven that you actually can create that good balance with these characters to tell a compelling story.

If Webb & company are telling the truth about the change in tone, I will embrace it. I don't need the film to be "the best movie evah!" in order to like it. As long as this movie is fun, I will undoubtedly see this as a huge upgrade in comparison to ASM1.
